RAY GRAVES, left, will be the
head coach for the Air Force,
while Jack Little, above, has been
named head coach for the Ground
Force in Coxps game Dec. 18.
Coaches Announced
For Corps Game
By BOB BORISKIE
Sports Staff Writer
The coaching staffs for the
Ax-my-Air Fox-ce Cox-ps Champion
ship football game to be played
Thux-sday, Dec. 18 at Kyle Field,
have been announced.
Head coach for the Air Force
will be Ray Graves, who will also
tutor the offensive backs. Darrow
Hooper will instx'uct the ends, Bob
by Dixon the tackles, Dick Frey
the guards, and Chax-lie Saxe the
defensive backs.
For the Ground Fox-ce squad,
Jack Little will be head coach
and will handle the tackles. Walter
Hill will take chax-ge of the en^s,
Max-shall Rush the , guards, and
Connie Magouirk the backs. Herb
Scott will coach the defensive
backs.
Money fx-oixi gate receipts and
concession sales will go to the
Student Aid Fund, where students
may borx-ow money on a noix-intex--
est pay-when-you-can basis.
Aggies, UT Idle
An effox-t will be made to have
classes on the day of the game
end at 3 p. m. to eliminate chang
ing mess hall schedules axxd using
of game lights.
Ray George, Aggie head coach,
has said he will make every effox-t
to be at the game, and to announce
the play-by-play. He said the pux--
pose for the game was wondex-ful,
and he had heax-d there was ^some
good material in the intx-amux-al
program.
The teams will have only two
weeks to whip into shape, so it
has beexx suggested that 1214 min
ute quartex-s would be better than
x-egular collegiate pex-iods.
Plans call for the cox-ps to buy
50 cent admission tickets from the
fix-st sex-geant and march into the
stadium area. Anyone not desix*-
ing to go will be allowed to stay
in the dorm ax-ea and supervised
drill will be held at the scheduled
time.
, Bax-low Irvin, athletic dix-ectox-,
has consented to px-ovide uniforms,
dx-essing x-ooms, Kyle Field, and
stadium lights, if needed.
Baylor And TCU
To Win; Hogs Lose
By GUH BECKER
Associate Sports Editor
As SWC football swings into the final stages, SMU still
has a. chance to tie the Texas Longhorns for the conference
title.
However the Mustangs will meet the
Baylor Bears Saturday in the Cotton Bowl
and will find the Bears ruining their pipe
dreams.
It should be a good game and high scor
ing as the Bears and Mustangs have the
second and third best offensive units in the
conference respectively. The difference be
tween the teams is in the defense with the
defensive honors belonging to the Baylor
eleven.
Baylor has the second best pass defense
in the SWC while the Mustangs are first in Becker
passing offense. The Bears are weak on rushing defense,
but the Ponies haven’t shown a consistant ground attack all
year.
In a highscoring battle the Bruins will take the Mus
tangs and spoil their hopes, 28 to 19.
TCU to Take Rice
In a game rated by xxxost experts as a toss-up, the TCU Horned
Fx-ogs will jump into the win columix and keep their chances alive
for a tie for second place In the SWC standings.
The Horned Frogs own the second best defensive record in
the SWC and that Will be too much for the fast rushing Owls. The
Owls offense appears to be the best but the Frogs have two back-
fields to the Owls one.
TCU’s crafty coach “Dutch” Meyer will want to win this one
and won’t be disappoixxted when the Frogs win by a close margin,
24 to 21.

Tulsa’s offense-minded team will
have no tx-ouble with the win-less
Hogs. It will be another loss in the
SWC intex-sectional game and the
third by the Razox-backs to a Mis-
soux-i Valley squad.
Tulsa will keep its offense avex*-
age up in downing the Razox-backs
33 to 14.
The Rose Bowl pictux-e will be
cleared up somewhat when the,
Southex-n Califox-nia Trojans and
the UCLA Bruins meet Satux-day
to determine the Pacific Coast
Repx-esexxtative.
The Bruins have had a week’s
x-est and ax-e also playing on their
home field, but the Tx-ojahs usual
ly have a good day against the
Bruins and tomorx'ow should be no
exception.
It looks like the Trojans in the
Rose Bowl on New Year’s day by

The Wisconsin Badgers meet the
Minnesota Gophers at Madisoxx,
and will continue towax-d their bid
