Wrestlers Grapple Tonight at 8

Four professional wrestlers take
the ring tonight at 8 in the Consol
idated High School Gym in a show
sponsored by the College Station
Lions Club.
This all-pro show has the pro
mise of an evening full of enter
tainment, for all the mat artists
are big-time boys and all put up
rough and tough battles.
Bill LeRoy of the Geology De
partment, announced today that
some more attendance prizes had
been obtained.
According to LeRroy, the A&M
Photo Shop has donated a free
8 x 10 portrait, two free dinners—
courtesy of the A&M Grill—along
with another free meal, via the
12th Man Inn.
LeRoy said no seats are reserved,
so if one wants a ring-side seat,”

bouts have contained plenty of

Rudy Valentino, also known as
the “Peruvian Panther” is another
ope of the boys who moves fast
and furious. His actions are more
on the athletic grace of a wild
animal and can spring into sudden
and fierce action with the same
spirit and ferious ability of a beast
of the jungle.
Torrid Trainer
The fourth mat star on the card
is the well known “Leo the Lion”
Newman, who in many appear
ances has the appearance of a lion.
Newman, who lives a realative
quite life outside of the ring, can
at numerous times get as rough
as any man of the ring can. Leo
seems to be the most enthusiastic
wrestler on the card, for it is
noted that his training rules and
exercises are the most torrid of
any of the big time wrestlers.
Wood Paces
Houston Club
Over Hillel
Lou Wood and Bud Williams pac
ed the cagers of the Houston Club
to a lopsided 22-9 win over the
Hillel Club.
, Wood hit the net for 10 points
with Williams hitting the bucket
for seven counters. H. Lackshin
led the scoring for the losers with
five tallies.
The score at halftime was 8-7
in favor of the final winners.
Football
The Fish band recovered a tight
7-6 win over the freshman foot
ballers from Battery 7. The game
was a tight contest all the way
with the winners leading only by
one penetration, 5-4.
A Port Arthur Club eleven rack
ed up their second consecvitive win
in the club football circuit by tak
ing the Beaumont Club on pene
trations. The winners led in the
penetration department, 3-1.
The Ag Engineering Club defeat
ed the El Paso footballers, 14-0.

Houston last week.

Clash In Houston
After getting off with a trium
phant start last weekend in Hous
ton, the Aggie Fencing Team is
looking forward to return to Hous
ton this Saturday for a foil and
sabre meet.
The event is an Amateur Fencing
League of America, Gulf Coast Di
vision meet in novice foil and prep
sabre starting 2 p. m. in the YMCA.
In last Saturday’s meet at the
University, of Houston the Aggies
carried off five out of six places in
prep foil and epee.
Joe Pafford brought in first
place in foil 5-1 in the finals, while
Bill Hegmann took third with a
4-2 win. Second place went to
Cadwell from the U of H team.
Showing up exceptionally well
were Jerry Ramsey, Charles Tea,
and Arthur Garner, all freshmen.
Tea and Garner both reached the
finals in foil, while Ramsey took
top honors in epee.
The Farmers cleaned house in
epee with Jerry Ramsey, Bill Wil-
mann, and Aden Magee taking
first, second, and third places re
spectively.
Dominating in the finals by 3-1
the Ags forced Blouin from the U.
of H. out of the placing, and Will-
man and Ramsey were tied for
first.
Ramsey won in the play off 3-2
with Willman dipping to second.
SWC Tumblers
MeetTomorrow
In DeWare Gym
Tumblers from five of the
SWC schools will get together
tomorrow in DeWare Field
House to talk things over and
show everyone what gymnas
tics is in the southwest.
The purpose behind the five-way
meet is to hold a clinic to' discuss
gymnatics and then to put on a
show for anybody who wishes to
attend.
Gymnastics teams from Texas,
Baylor, Rice, SMU, and A&M will
be on hand to take part in the
three-hour loner clinic.
Coaches from the various schools
and the more experienced perform
ers will give instructions on the
different apparatus, and will de
monstrate new routines and tricks.
There will be no admission char
ges for all persons who wish to at
tend.

Here's What You Should Know About The
New Texas "Safety Responsibility Law

Enfoi Cement Begins January I, 1952. On this date, the new Safety Responsibility Law,
as passed by the Legislature, goes into effect. This law was designed to protect you against
financially irresponsible drivers and owners of motor vehicles involved in accidents. It affects all
drivers and motor vehicle owners (except Federal, State, County and City-owned cars).
What Must You Do After An Accident? Under exisiting laws, you must file a writ
ten lepoit to the Department of Public Safety if your car is involved in an accident where there
is a death, an injury or property damage in excess of $25. Under the new law, a written report
must be filed within ten days if your car is in an accident resulting in death or injury, or property
damage in excess of $100.
You Don’t Hare to Carry Liability Insurance, But. .. if you are not insured
against bodily injury and property damage liability, you must be able to deposit with the Depart
ment of Public Safety security equal to the estimated damage, not exceeding $15,000.00, to cover
all claims growing out of an accident anywhere in Texas in which you or your motor vehicle were
involved. If you cannot establish financial responsibility for the future, your driver’s license and
your motor vehicle license plates are automatically suspended.
Its Easy to Establish Financial Responsibility with a motor vehicle liability in
surance policy. If you do not now have such a policy, call your local insurance agent today. He
is a qualified insurance counselor who will be happy to advise you concerning your needs.
What is the Minimum of Your Liability? The law permits each driver to establish
the following minimum limits of liability: up to $5,000.00 for injuries sustained by one personj
up to $10,000.00 for all personal injuries resulting from one accident, and up to $5,000.00 for prop
erty damage. You do not have to establish such liability but it is the easiest way.
