DO YOU WORRY
About the “younger generation”, and

Hi

f
Hayward Peterson
First started at the Southside
eight years ago. After three
years in the Navy, he entered
the automobile mechanics school
and is now “in ignition”. He
still works part-time for us. Is
married and has 2 children. Owns
his home and is a solid citizen.
James Winn
Market Manager. About his
first job after leaving Consoli
dated High School was with the
Southside ten years ago. Has
worked continuously since, ex
cept for almost three years array
service. At home in any part of
the store. Interested in his work
and his customers. Married,
Wife, Fay, son Jimmy.
EUis Folsom
Ellis Folsom, Market Assistant
and stock clerk. Native of North
Zulch. Four years Grocery and
market experience, more than
three years in the Army. Mar
ried, wife Gene. An amiable
and reliable man.
Lewis Glover
Produce Department Manager.
He is all smiles today as we are
installing our big new refrigera
ted produce and fruit display
case. W'e would not be able to
get a man of Lewis’ experience
had he not bought a home in Gar
den Acres and just naturally pre
fers this to Houston, where he
was a chain store manager for
about seven years. Four years
Army service. Married, three
children.
Ray Oden , . .
“the old man”
“Somebody owes me a thirty-
five year service button.”
“Hard work does it.”
“The cash-and-carry plan of op
eration better serves the great
est number of people. Thanks
for helping keep it that way.”
PREMIUMS
s
After very careful deliberation we
have decided that we will discontinue
our premiums. Uncle Sam has prom
ised us a lot of headaches from labor
shortages and probable red tape by
renewed regulations. We think we
had better simplify operations as
much as possible. We lose one man
in January, two in June.
