Probably few tears were shed when the announcement was made stating the lease on the Annex would expire at the completion of the Spring semester. In use for college instruction since 1946, the Bryan Army Air Field was constructed by the army in 1942 as a tempor ary air base to be occupied not longer than five years. What use the army will have for the buildings as they now are is difficult to conceive, but if our guess is right, they will find little more tharf a stockpile of well-used lumber in them. The Annex was leased in 1946 by the college in order to alleviate the temporary space shortage caused by the over flow of veterans returning for college instruction. As far as we know, the general consensus among the freshmen now at the Annex is that moving all students back on the main campus will be the best thing this college has done since the establishment of the A&M Annex. And so, come June 1 or close thereafter, the Annex Will be only one of the many features which the college can add to its list of stepping stones passed over toward a greater A&M College. “FIVE for FOUR” Bring Us Five of Your Old Books You Don’t Need Pick Up Four Good Books You Do Need LOUPOT’S TRADING POST You Know “LOU” He’s for “YOU” ■ v ■ . ^ i A1 Capp. Li’l Abner’s creator, prepares to boot the polio bug Into Lower Slobbovia. “Critters” signed and called “LTI Polio Bugs” by the ca used In carnival-type booths throughout the couni for the annual March of Dimes campaign.
