Each in his own way contributed to the growth of the college in its initial sev enty-five years. And the names of most of them have been in grained into the soul of Aggie- land. Three, especially, rank as outstanding—Lawrence Sullivan Ross, “Founder of Aggie Tradi tions;” Gibb Gilchrist, present Chancellor of the A&M System; and Frank C. Bolton, 41-year faculty member and present President Emeritus. The past presidents are (first row) Thomas Gathright, James Garland James, Ross, (second row) L. L. Foster, David Frank lin Houston, H. H. Harrington, Robert T.
