sider full-face pictures, only, as it
was not possible to get a complete
idea of the child’s features from
a profile view. After a few hour's
deliberation, they agreed upon the
six dinners.

Branch of the AAUW held a tea
recently honoring Dr. Pearl O.
Ponsford, the State Division presi
dent, at the Woodland Heights
home of Mrs. J. C. Culpepper.
Mrs. D. W. Fleming and Mrs.
J. H. Sorrels presided at the tea
table which was centered with a
Bouquet of spring flowers. White

ax were used for decoration
throughout the house.
During the afternoon. Dr.
Ponsford spoke briefly, compli
menting the local branch on its
splendid beginning and achieve
ments during the first year. She
urged attendance at the state
convention to be held in El Paso,
starting April 8. She also told
of the national convention to be
held in Seattle in June, and the
convention of the International
Federation of University Women
which will take place in Zurich,
Switzerland, in the Summer.
Dr. Ponsford emphasized the
fact that the international study
grants of the AAUW have done
much to further international un
derstanding.

Has Picnic

a picnic Saturday afternoon for
mambara of the Junior class of vet
erinary mt'didnc. It was held at
8 p.m. in Hensal Park. Other hon

veterinary medicine school faculty.

Bridge Club
Dismisses j
The Veterans’ Wives’ Bridge
Club met in regular session Thurs
day evening at 7:30 in the YMCA
on the Campus.
Five tables fit bridge competed
for the prizes. High score was
won by Celestia Loden and second-
high by Nelda Wilson.

afternoon meetings of the New
comers’ Club in the YMCA on the

bers welcomed were Mrs. Vir
ginia Higginson, Mrs. L. S.
O’Ban non, and Mrs. L. R.
Thompson. There were also three
visitors: Mrs. H. M. Bradley,
Mrs. Cora Melloh, and Mrs. A. W.
Gauger.
Half of the members at the
meeting played bridge. Mrs. John
McNeely was high-score winner
and Mrs. Sam’ Southwell placed
second. Tallies were in the form of
Easter bunnies.

The ’49er Club presented a style review at
Braley’s in Bryan Wednesday evening at 8 p.m.

ster’s Easter parade were modeled
