Industrial Editing Conference
Slates Speakers on Personnel
Four members of the Houston Society of Associate In
dustrial Editors, will speak on four phases of writing and in
dustrial personnel relations to members of an industrial
editing conference here.
The two hour session will begin at 7 p. m. February 22
in the Physics Lecture Room, D.+
D. Eurchard, head of the Journa
lism Department, has announced.

be presented jointly by the Journa
lism Department, Management En
gineering Department, Business
and Accounting Societies and Stu
dent Publications.

Mechanics of Writing.”
Fourth speaker on the program
will be V. J. McCoy, who is train
ing supervisor for Shell Oil Com
pany, Houston. He will talk on
“Writing in the Field of Employee
and Public Relations in the Fu
ture.”
Beach is president of the So
ciety of Associate Industrial Edi
tors. His talk will be on “The
Technique of Writing for Indus
trial and Trade Magazines.” It
will provide useful suggestions for
persons who will have need to
write about what they are doing,
such as county agents and engi
neers, Burchard stated.
Another speaker of the confer
ence will be Jack C. Shannon,
Public Relations Coordinator,
Humble Oil Company. His talk
will be titled, “Writing for Spe
cial Purposes and Public Relations
Material.”

THREE PLANE CRASH
VICTIMS IN WACO
WACO, Tx., Feb. 17 —(A 5 ) Three
plane crash victims were in a Waco
hospital today and youngsters near
here were searching the country
side for a bottle of perfume lost
in the crackup.
The injured were identified as
George J. Hundley of Dallas and
Mr. and Mrs. Perry Smith of Col
umbia, S. C.
