Lass-0 Presents Editorial
Views On rTessie Letters’’
The following editorial was- prin
ted thh week in the dally ‘‘laSH-O”
! student newspaper of TSCYf.
‘BROTHER-8ISTEK’ FEELING
(Quote) Last week the "Batta
lion, AftM’s student publication,
printed two anonymous letters,
presumably from TSCW girls.
In theso letters the girls refer
red to tho conduct of the Singing
Cadets at TSCW and an allege ‘
letter to the TSCW’s dean of Wo
men. Theyjfelt that the traditional
A&M-TSCW feeling was disappear
ing.
The writers stated that a letter
had been received by the dean in
answer to her letter asking if the
Singing Cadets wished dates dur
ing their recent visit at TSCW.
The statement lifted from the an
swer was 1‘We have our little black
books filled.-Ha!” The giris fur
ther admonished that this was not
the type letter to be addressed to
an administrative official.
Rumors have a way of spreading
at TSCW, just as they do any
where. This one happens not to be
true. Correspondence between the
Singing Cadets and TSCW at the
time of the concert was carried
on through the business manager’s
office and was addressed to the
business manager, not the dean.
The letter is informal, but not sar
castic as implied by the anony-
n^ous letters.
f TSCW and A&M need each other
to make their social lives complete
on their campuses. This opinion
was expressed by several signed
letters received from A&M this
piast week recognizing the matter
| administrative ; officials arc striv
ing for a workable solution for
Corps Trip behavior. A&M offi
cials arc also Working toward the
same end.
One writer stated: "At the pres
ent time the senior class is work
ing on a course in etiquette to be
given to the underclassmen during
the first part of the Military
Cadets ati TSCW and an alleged 1 Science Class. This course is de-
* signed to do some of the training
that I think you meant wo need.”
“We know that you girls are
keeping up your end of the rela
tionship between schools as evi
denced by the treatment of the
Aggie Sweetheart selection com
mittee. Those twelve seniors never
expressed publicly their apprecia
tion for the wonderful hospitality
shown them last October, but I
know each one individually wrote
two or three of the girls thanking
them. That is the kind of thing
that must be encouraged and it can
be done if both schools cooperate.”
. TSCW and A&M have been con
sidered brother-sister schools for
many years. Each year with a new
influx of students, new problems
arise. With the cooperation of both
student bodies agreeable solutions
to these problems can be reached
and the schools may remain close
together, (end quote.)

One student writes: "I am not
speaking for myself alone hut wish
to express the feelings of many of
Us Aggies here at College Station.
We are extremely sorry for tho
incidents which happened recently.
It is truly regrettable and if R will
help any, wo wish to express our
sincere apology to you as a group.”
Due to the lack of space In tho
Lass-O, the paper Is not attempting
to print all the letters tyeelvea
from A&M. With one exception
they convoy tho same Idea.

"But thanks be to God, which

15:57
Whenever we find ourselves de
feated by temptations and ques
tionable habits, we may be sure
that the reason for it is that we
fought the temptations in our own
strength and tried to shape our
habits alone. The New Testament
is abundantly clear on this point.
“Without me ye can do nothing,”
said Jesus (John 15:5). The most
persistent wuyker In the kingdom
Is the man who has surrendered
