In the first of two games played
Friday the Giants and the Pirates
met on the old drill field with the
Giants gaining a 10-4 verdict. Hits
were twelve for the Giants and
ten for the Pirates. The winning
pitcher was Manning and the loser
was Davis. Byer of the Giants and
Whittaker of the Pirates were the
leading' hitters with each getting
three for three.
In the second game Friday the
Cubs won over the Indians' 13-8.
A total of 29 base knocks were
registered with the Cubs getting
17 and the Indians 12. Pitching
for the winners was Rogers, and
for tl(e losers Barlow on the
mound! Leading hitters were
Martiij, Terrell, anjd Benish of
