The Southwest Conference title
race was narrowed to two teams
over the weekend as the Baylor
Bears took the Arkansas Razor-
backs twice, 4i2-88 and 55-i47.
Texas Christian took the short
end of two games, to A&M by a
humiliating 48-22, and to Rice, 68-
54. This lot the Frogs in the cellar
spot vacated by the Aggies.
SMU fared n Kotle better in
Houston, taking the Owls by 69-54
Saturday night, but the 46-51 loss
handed them by the Farmers left
them next to the bottom rung with
Rice. I -
THIS WEEK’S GAMES . . .
Something will have to give
Thursday night when the two lea
gue leaders, Texas and Baylor,
tangle in Waco. Both squads are
undefeated in conference play, but
the Bears have proved themselves
against tough Arkansas, while Tex
as has taken its toll among the
lesser teafns.
Arkansas will be host to TGU
Friday and Saturday nights while
mfising wounds left over from the
Bruin tilt.
A&M will have a lone game this
week, playing host to the Rice Ovids
Friday night.
