College An nex locate dat Bryan Army Air Field, 9 miles west of Bryan, Texas. Concessions are to be granted separately to highest responsible bidder, provided bid is not otherwise rejected, and are to cover the period September 1, 1947, to August 31, 1948, unless sooner terminated. The right is reserved to terminate concession on 30 days notice in accordance with the Col- legt lease with the Government. Bidders may bid on either or both concessions, but separate bids are required. The concessions for which bids will be received are as follows (separate bids are required for each concession) : 1. Cleaning, Pressing, Laundry and Al terations. This concession will be a col lection and delivery station only. No ma chinery will be allowed with the exception of sewing machines for alterations. The laundry service will not include students laundry, as the College Laundry will have a station located on the field for the bene fit of the students. Approximately 1,000 feet of floor space will be assigned in the old Post Exchange Building which also will contain a branch of the College Ex change Store. 2. Barber Shop. Consisting of 2 or more chairs, to contain equipment con sistent with modern barber shops located in this area. Approximately 500 sq. ft. will be assigned for this shop. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids and to waive all technicalities. Marine Reserve Enlistment Open Here This Week Major Andrew Davis, USMCR, will be on the campus, Thursday and Friday, to solicit enlistments of former Marines in the Volun teer Reserve of the Marine Corps. All men interested in enlisting may see Major Davis in the YMCA on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. Any person who signs up in Class Illb Reserve may do so at his highest rank held in service and continue his longevity, though not on active duty. Pulitzer Prizes Awarded for 1947 “The Autobiography of William Allen White”, published after the death of the Emporia (Kansas) ed itor, took the Pulitzer prize for the best biography of 1947. Astronomical So ciety held its final meeting of the year in the Physics Building Mon day night. Mr. E. E. Vezey gave an interpretation of the fundamen tals of Einstein’s Theory. At the close of the meeting offi cers were elected for the coming year. They were: Vincent H. O’Bryan, President; W. D. Ager- ton, Vice-President; H. W. Spen cer, Secretary-Treasurer; and H. B. Hodges, Reporter. A membership drive is slated for the Fall as work on the new observatory will begin at that time. Students Wanted For Summer Jobs On Farms Students who would like to work on wheat farms this summer should get in touch with the farm labor office of the Extension Service, according to C. Hohn, state farm labor supervisor. Although Hohn cannot place di rectly those wanting work, he can put the student in touch with farm ers who have indicated they would like to hire students. Most farm ers asking for students want some one who is willing to work any where he is needed, whether on a combine, plowing, or building fen ces. The farm labor office is located in the USDA-PMA building on the northwest corner of the campus. Ex-Members of 144 Inf. To Unite in Fort Worth Par Oneri Club, ex-members of the 144th Infantry Regiment, will hold a reunion Saturday, June 21 at 5:00 p.m. in the old armory building at 201 East Lancaster Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas. New members will be welcomed, and everyone attending will be en tertained at the barbecue dinner which will follow the business meeting of the club. Ample time will be allotted for a “Bull-ses sion”.
