Hollywood Revel-ations
By Harry Revel
Hi-ya Aggies . . . Here’s some
more movie-town musings . . . .
MICKEY the ROON has moved
out of his palatial mansion in Bev
erly Hills and has taken a small
apartment for himself, thereby
scotching the rumors that he would
reconcile with his wife.
SHIRLEY TEMPLE, just cel
ebrated her 19th birthday . . .
just a quiet family gathering
without publicity and flash-
bulbs.
There is a possibility of the
FRANK SINATRA-LEE MORTI
MER hostilities ceasing ere it
reaches the court stages . . . and
frankly, ’twould be a good thing
for both parties concerned . . .
there’s no reason for mud-slinging
and publicity
washing out
dirty linen . . .
lovely INGRID
BERGMAN is
due back to
Hollywood
within the
next month, to
start work on
JOAN OF
ARC her next
c i n e m a t -
Harry Revel a c chore ... .
JOE LOUIS
the champ, is in town and vows
that after the next two fights in
defense of his crown, he’ll posi
tively retire from the ring . . .
familiar sight in Hollywood these
days is the one and only JACK
DEMPSEY riding horseback ac
companied by his two daughters . .
the two gals are gretty good rid
ers, too .... too bad about poor
BENNY LEONARD, the famous
light-weight champ who died while
refereeing a fight in Brooklyn last
week . . .he should have retired
from the fisticuff world with plen
ty of dough stacked away, but
when a guy gets so many ‘inves
tors’ sharing his earnings, there’s
not much left in the final analy-
sis.
DER BINGLE CROSBY is in
New York City having a heck of
a swell time, golfing, seeing the
shows, visiting the nightspots and
doing a couple of transcriptions
here and there. . . his next two re
leases THE EMPEROR’S WALTZ
and THE ROAD TO RIO will hit
the theatres this Fall.
BOB HOPE, JACK BENNY
and a host of Hollywood celebs
boarded planes and headed for
Galveston to do some benefits to
help the victims of the Texas
City holocaust.
BILL AND COO is the intrig
uing title of a feature film in col
or now being shot over at Republic
Studies . . . the cast consists of
400 birds and ace comedian KEN
MURRAY is the producer of this
unusual epic which has all the ear
marks of a Grade A success.
It looks as if FRED ASTAIRE
will be lured back to Hollywood
this late fall despite the fact that
he had admitted retiring from the
screen to take care of his DANCE-
TORIUMS in the East . . . once
a showman, always a showman,
and the smell of greasepaint to an
artist is the breath of Life.
So long . . . see you next week.
