SANKEY PARK JEWELER Diamonds - Silver - Watches Bryan, Texas The Aggies are riding deep in the second-place slot in Southwest Conference standings, and have only four games left on the 1946 schedule, three of them against the Steers. Texas has eight games left to play and has already beat en every team in the Conference except the Aggies. The Cadets would have to win at least two of its games with Texas to retain even a mathematical pos sibility of winning the Conference flag, while the least remote chance appears to hinge upon three wins from the Longhorns coupled with another Texas loss, say to T. C. U. at Fort Worth, which would result in a tie if the Aggies won its remaining game against S. M. U. On the principle that a slim chance is better than none. Coach Lil Dimmitt is expected to send his ace pitcher, Earl “Kid” Bees- ley, to the mound tomorrow and to present his strongest patting arrangement to the Steers, prob ably in about the same order that started against the Rice Owls last Tuesday. Bobby Layne, top- ranking pitcher of the Steer staff, is reported to be suffering from a bruised ankle received Monday night in an automobile accident and may not be in shape to start for Texas.
