Friday Afternoon, April 12, 1946 The Battalion Page 3 :: On Kyle Field :: By Marion “Dookie” Pugh Battalion Sports Editor Well, with the birds screaming and hollering, the bees buzzing the flowers, and a few twinkles developing in eyes that formerly looked as if they would never twink again, it must be spring. And when spring gets in your blood it’s bound to affect you in some way. Some people get sleepy, others DR. N. B. McNUTT DENTIST Office in Parker Building Over Canady’s Pharmacy Phone 2-1457 Bryan, Texas want to mow the grass, go fish ing, pick flowers, or what have you, and then there is that minor ity that gets the yen to paint. There has been some painting going on here at T.A.M.C. Now don’t get me wrong. There is noth ing more pleasing to the eye than something just freshly painted; a house, a fence, or the beautiful works we have the privilege of seeing on the canvasses. But the amazing thing about the painting being done on the “No Parking” signs here at college is that they are adorned with orange. Now or ange is all right in its place, but for goodness sake, let’s' leave it where it belongs. Out of approxi mately 152 colors—not true colors, OmciwiW fiwArtWW i jtJrdL. , S Z'CUODlES'SAKAll • DAVID BUTLER • ROBERT BUCKNER bjMi VICTOR FRANC£N • JOHN LITEL oonw. kmoi pvm n MM umat ms v. «. mmmt . mumc n «m raiiBN C"?5£* ,r ««wr but colors nevertheless—why must we use orange? We would rather believe that the painting just completed is a base for maroon, red, green, black, purple, or anything, but not for that other color. It is understand able that the painting already done would probably have the desired effect of keeping anyone from this neck of the woods from parking near it, but it certainly is repulsive to the eye of every true Aggie. -o- The attendance at the baseball games played here this year has shown a dire lack of enthusiasm on the part of the Corps. Now this could be true because of the late classes, but it does look as if someone is falling down on the job when there are actually more non-uniformed people in the stands than Aggies. Come on men, let’s get the lead out and get on the ball. Give that team the support they need and deserve. We could easily have a championship out fit, but they need your backing to reach that goal. -o- The track team moves to Hous ton tomorrow to compete in a tri angular meet with Rice and L.S.U. The Aggie thinly-clads are favored to cop the meet through their strength in the distances and the field events. -o- Three conference baseball games will be played by the Dimmittmen this weekend. Two will be played at Dallas Friday and Saturday nights at the Dallas Rebels’ park, and a single game will be played Monday afternoon against T.C.U. in Fort Worth. If the Aggies can take two out of the three they will still be in good shape for the conference crown. Three for three would be nice, but with only one proven pitcher, Earl Beesley, to carry the burden, it will be rough. Beesley is slated to start the first game against S.M.U., but the start ers for the next two games are a big question. Your guess is as good as any.
