Aggies Outlast TC U, Meet Bears Tuesday
Beesley Slated
To Face Baylor
The Texas A. & M. baseball team
will journey to Baylor tomorrow to
play their third game on the
Southwest Conference schedule.
Earl Beesley is expected to start
.on the mound for the Aggies after
winning two from the T.C.U. Hom
ed Frogs last week.-
Diamond fans are expecting to
'use tomorrow’s game as a basis
-for comparing the Aggies’ strength
with that of Texas university. The
Longhorns defeated the Bruins in
both games of a series last Thurs
day and Friday 7-6 and 5-1, and
are considered as - the principal
stumbling block in the Aggies’ bid

its game to the Texas Aggie B
team here Saturday afternoon, 13-0
with Billy Hill, Bill Warrier and
Walter Deaken on the mound for
the losers. Walt Bard well and A1
Newman pitched for the Aggies
allowing six hits while the Aggies
collected 13 off the opposing trio.
For the Aggies Zeke Strange
and De Lafosse both tripled while
Jack Watson, Russ Mays and Bill*
Hartley doubled.
for the Conferepce crown.
Tuesday’s contest at Waco is a
one-game stand.

Aggies Win Two
First Places at
Texas Relays
Two first places were garnered
by the Texas A. & M. track team
at the Texas Relays Saturday, as
well as several other places.
The Aggie firsts were won in the
mile relay by Benson, Napier,
Fischer, and Harnden, with a time
of 3:22.0 and in the broad jump
with a leap of 24 feet, 9 5-8 inches
by Tate.
Other places were as follows:
120-yard high hurdles, fourth
place by Oscar White. High jump,
third place Haws, 6 feet, 2 inches;
and a fourth-place tie, Underwood,
6 feet.
In the University-Service Divi
sion:
Distance Medley, A. & M. placed
fourth. 440-yard relay, A. & M.
placed third. 880-yard relay, A. &
M. placed second.

Hub Moon Drives in Winning Tally
After Frogs Tie Up Hectic Contest
The Texas Aggie baseball nine stayed in the Southwest Confer
ence running Friday afternoon as they defeated the T. C. U. Horned
Frogs 18-17 in as wild a diamond contest as has been seen on Kyle
Field in many years.
Scorekeepers for the game add
ed up a total of 25 walks, 13 errors,
25 hits, 35 runs, one hit batsman,
and three runs scored on wild
pitches and passed balls. Climax
of the free-scoring fracas came
when the Horned Frogs went into
the first of the ninth trailing by
seven runs and managed to tie up
the ball game. In the last inning
Hub Moon cracked out his fifth
hit of the day to score Bob Little,
who was pinch running for Henry
Lindsey, who was pinch hitting for
A1 Rettig.
Both teams used up five pitch
ers. Newman started for the Ag
gies and was succeeded in order
by Bardwell, Shuford, and Purtle.
Earl Beesley, who had pitched a
one-hit game on the previous day,
was called in to relieve in the

Texas A. & M.’s tennis team won
its first start of Southwest Con
ference play Saturday, defeating
the S.M.U. Mustangs 5-1.
The Ponies’ only victory of the
afternoon came when George Rick
