Man, Your Manners
By I. Sherwood
What’s what and what’s not in
nice table manners: Table man
ners really start before you sit
down to eat. You wait until your
hostess assigns you to a place
at the table then, if you are to
be seated with a lady on your right,
you stand behind her chair and
help her to be seated.
The napkin at the left of your
plate is yours; unfold it half way
and lay it acros your lap. When
you are about to leave the table,
lay it at the left of your plate.
If you are afraid that you may
use the wrong piece of silver, re
member the outside pieces are used
first, then continue toward your
plate on either side; trust your own
judgment as to the requirements
of the food at hand.
Never cut more than one or two
pieces of meat at a time. Remem
ber to bring the food up to your
mouth, don’t lean over to meet it.
Brush up on your table manners
and feel at ease in any company
anytime.
32 of the Science building. The
program will include a tour
through the Fish and Game Muse
um. Anyone who feels that he
might be interested is cordially in
vited to attend and bring a friend.
The Biology club meets every Mon
day night and an interesting pro
gram in the form of a movie, a
tour or a lecture is presented.
Waco Club Meets
Tomorrow Night
The Waco-McLennan County
Club will have its second meeting
of the current semester on April 2,
7 p.m., in Room 206 of the Aca
demic Building. R. N. Lehman, tem
porary president of the club, urges
all old members and those living
in McLennan County who wish to
join to be present. Permanent of
ficers will be elected, and the con
stitution of the club and its changes
will be read at the meeting.
BATTALION REFUSES
Continued from East Gate
to tea-fiends without the knowl
edge of other customers.
It appears that many veterans
who spent time in England have
brought the habit back with them.
An unexpected climax to the in
vestigation was the discovery that
a Battalion managing editor was
among the victims. He was prompt
ly dismissed from the staff.
If you have gotten so far, read
the date of this issue.
Ellis County, in a war on crows,
planted more than 200 pounds of
explosives in trees.
