Heretofore the requirement ha^ been that at least experience of one year would be required of an applicant. Both positions have been paid positions in the past. The present budget provides a salary of $30.00 monthly for the Batt editor. The Lo'nghorn budget has not been provided inasmuch as no decision has been reached to to whether pub lication will be made. It is expected that this job too will be a paying position in the event publication of an annual is undertaken. Friends of Sam Nixon, present editorial assistant to John Spra- gins, stated he was certain to be a candidate for the Battalion. No possible candidates have been ru mored for the job on the Longhorn, although it is certain to attract several candidates. The decision to waive the ex perience requirement was made in order to attract wide interest in the various positions. Manpower shortages occasioned by the draft and other causes also justified the exception this year, it was stated.
