Silver Taps To Be Played For Aggie World W ar II Dead Sat.
Approximately Four Hundred-Fifty
Exes Have Made Supreme Sacrifice
In Memory of those Aggies
who have given their lives for
their country in the present global
war, Silver Taps will be observed
Saturday night. According to rec
ords kept by the Former Students
Association approximately 450
former students have made the
supreme sacrifice thus far. These
records are incomplete though as
word has not yet been received of
the death of many others.
At a recent meeting of the Sen
ior Class it was decided that Sil
ver Taps would be an appropriate
means of remembering the former
students who had given their lives
for their country.
Greatest suffered in casualties
thus far has been the class of ’41
which has lost 64 former mem
bers. Next is the class of ’42 with
57 followed by the class of ’40
with 54 lost forever.
Listed below are those who have
been reported killed in Woi’ld War
II along with the place where they
were mortally wounded. It must
be remembered that this list does
not include every former student
casualty but just those who have
been reported to the office of the
Former Students’ Association.
