GENERAL ORDER NO. 3 RULES CONCERNING DISCIPLINE: Every student is expected at all times to conform to the ordinary rules of pro piety and gentlemanly conduct; to be truthful; to respect the rights of others; to be punctual and regular in attendance upon all required exercises; and to have due regard for the preservation of College property. I. FURLOUGHS: a. All week-end passes will be submit ted through the TACTICAL OFFI CER who will approve and turn them in to the COMMANDANT’S OFFICE not later than noon, THURSDAY, of each week. Only in cases of emergency will students be given authorized absences, which will permit them to make up class work. Passes will be granted from 8:00 P.M., SATURDAY, until 8:80 P.M. • SUNDAY. b. Students are free to visit on or off the campus within a radius of five miles, when not scheduled for classes or study provided they sign out with the CHARGE of QUARTERS in the TACTICAL OFFICER’S HEAD QUARTERS in the dormitory. II. ROOM ORDERLIES: a. The name of the room orderly shall be posted on the door, over the sched ule card. b. The orderly is responsible for the proper police of the room, preserva tion of property, and maintenance of order. III. HOSPITAL: a. The surgeon will be at his office in the hospital from 7:30 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. and from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., except Sundays and holi days. Students desiring medical treat ment will check out with their re spective CHARGE of QUARTERS and report at these times; except in case of emergency they may check out and report at any time. IV. DISCIPLINE: a. Official COLLEGE REGULATIONS published in the “Blue Book” explain offenses for which a student may be disciplined. Special attention is called to the following offenses for which a student may be dismissed or re quired to withdraw: 1. Lying. 2. Cheating on any college work. 3. Making a false report. 4. Hazing. 5. Gambling. 6. Drinking or having in his pos session any alcoholic or intoxicat ing liquor. 7. Excess demerits. 8. Throwing water in the hall. 9. Setting off fireworks. b. 1. The limit of demerits for any semester will be 50 demerits for each student. 2. Students who receive 50 percent of their demerits will lose all privileges and a letter will be sent to the parents of the stu dents listing the offenses for the demerits were assessed. c. MOTOR VEHICLES: 1. All motor vehicles owned by stu dents will be registered in the COMMANDANT’S OFFICE ; park ed in the student parking lot adjacent to the dormitory area, and will be driven only when the student owning the car is on pass. d. CALL TO QUARTERS will be ob served by all CADETS in accordance with the SCHEDULE OF CALLS that will be published by special or der. V. UNIFORM: a. Cadets are required at all times to wear the prescribed uniform. b. No. 2 uniform, which includes khaki shirt, khaki tie, tan socks, tan shoes, overseas cap, will be worn habitual ly on the campus until further notice. c. Fatigue clothing. For LAB. classes coveralls with gar rison caps may be worn or the regu lation uniform with tie (sleeves will not be torn from coveralls.) For VET LAB and CLINIC white jacket and pants. d. Athletic uniform. , Only regulation trunks and under shirts with the undershirt tucked in to the trunks will be authorized for play, intramural games, and physical education classes. At inspections the furniture will be checked and must be in the prop er room. Furniture will not be moved from one room to another, unless authorized by the COMMANDANT. . All rooms must be properly policed each morning during FATIGUE CALL and kept clean throughout the day. Trash will not be swept into the halls after 7:00 A.M. each day. Nails or tracks will not be driven into the walls or timbers of buildings. . Cooking in the dormitories or the possession of any cooking utensils is prohibited. Window screens will be kept hooked and not be removed from their bear ings. -Tuesday Morning-, June 1, 1943 f. Report of loss or damage to property will be made to the TACTICAL OF FICER and by him to the COM MANDANT immediately, g. Lights used in dormitories will be approved I.E.S. study lamps. Stu dents living two per room will not exceed 200 watts. Students living 3 per room will not exceed 225 wa+ts. No lamp in the room will exceed 100 watts. h. Occupants of rooms are responsible for the furniture and equipment therein. Any loss or damage in the room will be charged against the occupants, unless the name of the responsible party is reported. i. No soliciting will be permitted dur ing CALL TO QUARTERS. Only those students who have concessions granted by the STUDENT ACTIVI TIES OFFICE will be permitted to solicit at any time in the dormitory, j. Personal belongings of students are subject to inspection by the COM MANDANT or his authorized rep resentative at all times. 5n_ assignment will be made without authority of the COMMANDANT. l. No student will go on the roof of any dormitory. m. Radios are authorized provided the volume is so that it does not disturb occupants of adjoining rooms, by order of Colonel WELTY: JOE E.
