Old Engineering Defense Courses Get Under Way
Again as Several New Ones Are Added to Curriculum
It was strictly an A. & M. affair when three members of last year’s
Aggie football team were sworn into the United States Army recently

field. Fartherest from the camera is “Bubba” Reeves, of San Antonio,
left guard; in the center is Odell “Dude” Herman, of Abilene who
worked at the pivot position; and nearest the camera is H. M. “Max”
Browder, right guard, of Groesbeck. All are members of the class of ’41.

Hogs Down Tempe
Enough of the Sam Houston
game, and on to the Texas A. & I.
tilt. The Javelinas opened their
season with a 14-7 defeat at the
hands of San Jose. This gave the
Californians sweet revenge for that
10-0 defeat the Texans plastered
on them last year. Last week, the
Hogs disposed of Tempe 34-6 at
Arizona.
The Aggies and Hogs have tangl
ed up five times, with the series
starting in 1932. The best the
Javelinas could do was a 14-14
deadlock in 1934, Coach Homer
Norton’s first year at Aggieland.
