Student Leaders Make Plans for 1940-41 Session
Richey Heads Seniors;
Nisbet, Baggett, Power,
Montgomery Are Editors
Keeton and Bland Are Yell Leaders,
Haines Heads A. & M. Town Hall, and
Fuermann Is Battalion Associate Editor
Thirteen A. & M. seniors from every corner of the State will
serve as the college’s student executives and student leaders during the
1940-41 long session. Headed by Cadet Colonel William A. Becker,
Kaufman, the responsibilities of student government and student
publications are principally in the hands of these men.

Tom B. Richey
President of this year’s senior
class, Richey upped from the vice
presidency of the junior class. A
San Antonian, he is also vice-pres
ident of the Y. M. C. A. Cabinet
and a former junior editor of the
Scientific Review. An agricultural
administration student ,he is a
member of C Troop Cavalry.
James H. Shelton
Vice-president of the class of ’41,
he hails from Hillsboro and is an
electrical engineering student in
K Company Infantry. A varsity
football man, Shelton plays center
and will probably see considerable
action this year.
W. Jeff Montgomery
Secretary-treasurer of the se
nior class, Montgomery is also
president of the Scholarship Honor
Society, the Press Club, and editor-
in-chief of the Engineer. A petro
leum engineering student from Ma
son, his organization is H Com
pany Infantry.
Lewis J. Nelson
Social secretary of the senior
class, Nelson was one of two soph
omore class representatives on the
Student ' Welfare Committee in
1938-39. A science major of the
Infantry Band, his home is in Gil
mer and he is a member of the
Ross Volunteers.
Aubrey V. Hamilton
Historian of the class of ’41,
Hamilton was a member of the stu
dent Welfare Committee last year,
and was also historian of the soph-
more class two years ago. A mem
ber of A Company Chemical War
fare Service, his home is in Mc
Kinney and he is a chemical engi-
