The Covered Wagon has gone talkie
almost a bit too late. In “Fighting
Caravans,” there are many beautiful
scenes, and Ernest Torrence and Tully
Marshall are on hand in their original
roles. Gary Cooper and Lily Damita
take the leads in this picture from
Zane Grey’s story of the west.'—2.
“A Tailor Made Man.” Although es
sentially a comedy, there is a deeper
note of sincerity in this picture than
in any other made by Haines. The
theme of the story is the rapid rise
and fall of a young man with a per
sonality, who finally finishes on top.
With Haines in this picture are Dor
othy Jordan, Marjorie Rambeau, and
a clever supporting cast.—2.
To cap off a good comedy, another
comedy is on the program, with Laurel
and Hardy, in “Laughing Gravy.”-—3.
“The Royal Russian Chorus,” in
their triumphant tour of fifty other
nations, will be in College Station
soon. There are twenty singers, danc
ers, and an orchestra, in the company.
This will undoubtedly be a treat for
lovers of harmony.—3.

“Dishonored” is undoubtedly Mar
lene Dietrich’s best picture to date.
The story is centered about espionage
among the Russians and Austrians,
and is full of action, drama, and sus
pense, not to mention an unusual end
ing for a picture of today, but per
haps realism has come to the screen.
Victor McLaglen plays a lead, as an
Austrian spy, and seeing him wear a
uniform is sufficient treat. The pic
ture is very well directed.—3.

“The Man Who Came Back” brings
Jaynet Gaynor and Charles Farrell
together again, but they are not so
well matched for this type of picture.
The story is of the fall of a rich
young society chap, from Fifth Ave
nue to the lowest opium dive in Shang
hai, and of his rise back to the favor
of his father, in which the girl he
loves degrades herself to save him.

The stars of “Parlor, Bedroom and
Bath” are back on the screen in a
new comedy hit, “Stepping Out.” The
action is supplied by the jealous wives
of high-stepping husbands. The cast
is funny and cleaver, with Reginald
Denny, Liela Hyams, Charlotte Green
wood and Cliff Edwards who goes col
legiate, and is just a gigolo for Char
lotte.—3.
