THE BATTALION 7 Texas Wins Last Game From A & M Bringing the 1931 basketball season to a close, the re-inspired University of Texas Longhorns rallied in the clos ing seconds of play to win from the Texas A & M cagers by a 29-28 score in Austin Saturday night. The Aggies took the lead in the ear ly part of the game and held it until the final minutes of the game. The first three quarters of the game were dull and uninteresting to the specta tors, but with only a few minutes to go, Price, Texas forward, sank a shot to put the Steers in the lead by a 26-25 score. Charlie Beard looped a basket to return the Aggies lead. With just a few seconds to go, Tay lor, a Texas guard, sank an easy shot that won the game. Moody was the outstanding player of the A & M team in both floor play and high scoring. He was high point man of the game with 14 points; Taylor of Texas was next with 8 points. This was the final game for both quintets. Texas— Fg Ft Tp Elkins, f 3 17 Hopkins, f 0 0 0 Tullis, f 10 2 Price, f 2 0 4 Fomby, c 2 2 6 E. Taylor, g 2 4 8 W. Sports Bits— (Continued from page 6) believe that Hoke is the best man of the two even though Dietzel led the conference in scoring. Hoke is the better player of the two. Dietzel is, extremely lucky at hitting the basket fi’om almost any position, but in playing their respective positions, Hoke holds the advantage. Hoke is a hard man to guard, an excellent jumper, a good man for scoring and defensive work. Our age is more humanist than in telligent. —G. K. Chesterton.
