Ag-gies Trample Steers
With 34 To 10 Victory
Hitting' the basket from all angles,
Coach Reid’s Ag'gie goal tossers ran
wild over the lowly University of Tex
as Steers Saturday night in the Me
morial Gym to defeat them 34 to 10.
The playing of Hoke, Moody and
Bell was outstanding throughout most
of the game. Moody, in scoring ten
points was high point man, Bell and
Hoke coming next with 8 and 7 re
spectively.
The fact that two of Moody’s four
goals were made directly from the
side of the basket, and were the re
sult of perfectly placed one hand shots,
stamped him as one of the leading
goal-shooters on the Aggie squad and
thereby placed him in line for a reg
ular berth on Coach Reid’s fast step
ping five.
By some very alert guarding Cap
tain Shiro Hoke held Fomby, lanky
Longhorn pivot man, to one field goal.
At the same time Hoke managed to
loop three baskets and one free throw
before being replaced by Floyd in the
middle of the second half.
Beau Bell, second in the scoring race
Saturday night, with some clever pass
ing and goal-shooting gave the spec
tators a few thrills until his depar
ture from the game late in the sec
ond half.
Bull Elkins, Longhorn scoring ace
was added to the Reidmen’s list of
no field goal victims, being stopped
completely without even one to his
credit for the entire game. Fomby, an
other Steer ace was also helpless be
fore the air-tight defense of the Ag
gies.
When Hoke was removed from the
game Saturday night is was the first
time he has been replaced in a con
ference tilt this season.

Cavalry and the second with the low

ture intramural football champion.
Beginning this week Lieutenant
Nachman’s sharpshooters, national
champions last year in the small bore
indoor rifle competition, will fire the
first matches of the present season.
The team appears to be equally as
strong as last year’s judging from
practice records.
Coach Klepto Holmes is develop -
ing quite a freshman basketball team
apparently. Having won five games
to date in as many starts, the team
has scored a total of forty or more
points i nevery game. Temple Junior
College, Navasota High School, and
Blinn Memorial College are the vic
tims in the games played to date.
