duty is looks mighty slim.
At catcher, Lackey probably has
the most secure position because of
his experience, but should one of the
sophomores turn out to be a confer
ence slugger, Lackey might have to
give way to the new comers.
On the mound the Aggies are as
strong as any club in the conference
with Captain Pete Wendt and Tom
mie Mills ready for duty. Then “Lef
ty” Hunter is going good and should
win several games. Wendt is .also
a wrong hander. The remaining men
on the staff are right handers and
are showing lots of form and stuff.
SORORITIES RECEIVE A

when dressed in a fur coat and green
hat, he was received as'a pledge with
sisterly affection by many sororities
who were fooled by his make-up.
At the Alpha Phi house the wolf
in sheeps’ clothing was admitted to
the fireside where his true identity
was discovered when he attempted
to warm his unusually large hands.
His wits gained his admittance to
the Gamma Phi house, but not for
long, screams drove him from the

FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL
SPRING TRAINING ON WAY
Forty men reported to Coaches
Bell, Holmes and Petty for the ini
tial football practice Monday and all
were equipped with uniforms. Many
more were expected to report Tues
day and Wednesday. As usually is
the case fundamentals will be the
chief drill during the first few days
with a good measure of calisthenics
thrown in to loosen the muscles. The
majority of the lettermen and squad-
men are not reporting because of
duty with other teams.
Coach Reid has about thirty or
forty men working out in basketball
at the present, although he has no
definite check. Only foundamentals
are being taken up and every man
reporting is being given a thorough
try. Several prospects have already
been found and will be called out for
the squad next year providing im
provement continues. Anyone can re
port and freshmen a;re especially
urged to see Coach Reid concerning
the practice. Beard, a letterman, and
Fix, a squadman, are assisting Reid
with the many promising cagemen.
serving as a clue for campus sleuths.
