Slocomb, Jr., fleet Texas Aggie trackman and winner of the • Southwest low hurdle championship in the conference meet last year, stole a march on his team mates and friends when he and Miss Lois Bar ber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Barber of Fentress, were married at New Braunfels Feb. 1. The wedding was kept secret until just a few days ago when Slocomb broke the news to his team mates. Frank McCormick, captain and hurdler of the Texas Longhorns, also of Cameron and a former team mate of Slocomb at Yo high school (Cameron), is also mar ried. Slocomb, Mondrick and Herman Harlan, another Yo high school product, now at A. and M., are ex pected to be the leading contenders for the titles in both the low and high hurdles in the conference meet at Kyle Field this year. Last season Slocomb won the low hurdles and Harlan the high with Mondrick plac ing in both. FISH CONTINUE TO WIN (Continued from Page 6) of his club with 4 points.
