Coach Roswell Higginbotham’s Freshman gridsters heaped honor upon themselves when they downed the Brownsville high school ag gregation in a great game at the Border City last Thursday, 6-0. This win put quite a feather in the Fish’s fins for the Brownsville team is conceded to be one of the best in the state, not excepting the famed Waco Tigers. U. has done as much or more than ay other team in the conference to bring re nown to this section. In a way they did justice to all its fellow members in tieing the Army last year and doing the same thing to Nebraska this year. Recently a Longhorn wrote to Grantland Rice and asked for recognition. The eminent sports writer took enough space to say: “It might be recalled in this con nection that S. M. U., after almost nailing the Army last October, fin ished only third in the Southwest.
