THE BATTALION
is not the only state school to suffer from the recent cut. The ensuing year
will undoubtedly see a crisis in many of the state institutions. We can
only take what we have and use it to the best possible advantage.
We do not doubt the fact that our legislators realize the serious
ness of their actions; they have undoubtedly done the best they could. But
what nobler purpose could state officials have than to do all they possibly
can to materially help their own institutions of higher learning? We be
lieve that they have done all that they are in a position to do for us; it
is only regrettable that this is not enough.
Let us hope that in the future something can be done to augment our
funds, and to help the deplorable condition we are now in.
