Indications are that the Aggies’ line
will be one of a fairly heavy average,
Bassett having expressed the belief
that it will show 180 to 185 pounds
to the man.
A few men have already dropped
off the squad for various reasons.
Maufrais, one of the most promising-
candidates for guard, could not get
the courses he wanted, so he with
drew from school. Wrenn, the sheik
of College Station, had to drop off
the squad due to scholastic difficulties.
He was a good man.
Scoville, the husky athlete from
Dallas, has been switched from end
to guard v/here advantage may be
taken of his weight. Holmes has been
changed from the backfield to the line,
where he is showing up good.
While you are watching the Var
sity athletes performing on Kyle
Field don’t forget that the intramu
ral sport program offers a chance for
everyone to be an athlete. There is
a sport to fit any size, shape or fig
ure. Sophomores are wanted to try
out for intramural managers.
We have a swimming team here
that holds the Southwest Coast Cham
pionship. Anyone having “fishy”
tendencies is urged to get in touch
with Herman Cox, the coach, or
Drexel Turner, the captain.
Don’t forget, the game starts
promptly at 3 o’clock Saturday. Get
right, gang, get right, and let’s start
that THOUSAND MILE WALK.
Aggies Coaches

trying to teach. Higginbotham will
coach freshman football and baseball.
Assisting Coach Higginbotham with
freshman football will be Track Coach
Anderson, former Mississippi College
star, and D. C. McIntosh of Minne
sota. Henry Eitt, former Aggie star,
will also help with the Freshmen.
With an array of coaches of so
much ability it is little wonder that
they are passing the word around to
“Watch out for the Aggies.”

I just bit one of dem in two!”

FOOTBALL TEAM
(Continued from page 8)
Wylie, Rektorik, are letter men work
ing for tackle and guard positions,
and Big Willie Bartlett, veteran cen
ter of last year, is back to protect
that position. None of these men, as
good as we know them to be, are as
sured by any means of his position,
as the candidates from the last year’s
Fresman, Battalion and Varsity Squad
teams are giving them plenty of com-
petition. Indications are that the Ag
gie line of this year will average 180
pounds to 185 pounds to the man, ac
cording to the tentative analysis of
Bassett, line coach.
Coach Bible will have this “Great
Aggie Machine” ready for the invad
ers from Trinity Saturday, but the
line-up that plays that day will have
no special significance as to the per
manent line-up for the season.
Below is the list of players work
ing out, old men, look them up;
Freshmen, meet them—they are our
gang, and we love ’em!
“You gave me a narsty look,” de
clared the first cockney, belligerently.
“Well, you blighter,” snarled the
second cockney, “so did nature!”
