RATING BOARD
WELL PLEASED
WITH INSPECTION
Inspecting- Officers Express Surprise
at Good Showing Made.
Members of the War Department
Rating Board for the Third Army-
Area made their annual inspection of
the cadet corps at A. and M. recently.
It is upon the report of this board
that the distinguished college rating
is given. The A. and M. College of
Texas has held the distinguished col
lege rating by the War Department
continuously since 1910, the cadet
corps of the college being in the sen
ior division of the Reserve Officers
Training Corps. Approximately 35
colleges in the United States hold the
distinguished college rating.
Members of the rating board who
inspected the cadet corps of the col
lege, the system of theoretical and
practical instruction given in military
tactics, and the government property
at the college, such as arms, equip
ment, horses, and the like, were Ma
jors R. M'. Danford, artillery, and C.
H. Bonesteel, infantry, both from
headquarters in Washington, D. C.
The official report of the rating giv
en to A. and M. will not be announc
ed until the officers have completed
their area, but both officers were
highly pleased with the showing of
the corps, and predicted that the rat
ing given to the college will be high
er than it ever hqs been before.

The Will to do
Hard toil brings happiness to him
Who has—AN EARNEST AIM.
He meets each task with joyous vim;
Whose heart is—IN THE GAME.
Long hours pass with lightning pace
And lo, his work is through.
He is—A WINNER IN THE RACE
Who has—THE WILL TO DO.
