INTERSCHOLASTIC BASKETBALL The Aggie Athletic Department has been awarded the right to have the State Interscholastic Basketball Tour nament. This is an exceptionally good offer as each game will cost fifty cents if you are without your ticket book. There will be a book of five tickets issued when each man pays up. In ne> t weeks Bat will be a list of teams that will be represented in the tournament. The old home town may be in there. Watch her go. Football, Volleyball, and Golf Fill up Past Conference Game Here Tonight Weeks Card. Against Rice. The past two weeks results in the football games played will very nearly point out who the winner is likely to be. The two upsetting and near decisive games were played by the Cavalry and the Air Service, in which game the Air Service turned up the loser when a punt was fumbled and Buchanan of the troopers, scooped up the oval and dashed across for the only tally of the game. The game end ed in favor of the Cavalry, they be ing on the long end of a 7-0 score. Hard luck hhs assailed the Air Ser vice in the past few games it has played; in this game they made sev eral first downs while the Troopers made but one. The game between the Cavalry and the 3rd. Battalion was even closer than the preceding one; Buchanan again starred for the Cav alry when he booted a field goal for the three-point margin by which the Cavalry emerged the victors with a 3-0 score. With the next game the Air service again hit their old stride and poured it on the Composite regi ment to the tune of 20-0. This rounds out the season for the Air Service, a season they think has been a success ful one considering the loss of their Coach Babe Watts. If other games have been played there have been no reports of them turned in and consequently nothing can be said about them. The Intra mural golf tournament terminated last Sunday when Fish Tom Holleron beat his brother Bill 9 up and 8 to go in a thirty-six hole final of the first flight. In the second flight B. L. Smith defeated Gordon James 4 up and 3. Fish Allison won the third fight v/hen he won from S. M. Boynton 6 up and 4. The following named men turned in their names and scores as being qual ified to enter the tournament for the cup to be given by the Bryan Counc try Club: T. C. Holleron 83, A. O. Nicholson 87, H. Bremer 89, W. K. j Holleron 91, J. C. Landon 93, C. ^V. Schueses 94. There remain ,only three undefeated ] teams in the volley ball tournament: Air Service, Upperclassmen, 1000; 1st. (Continued on Page 7) The T. C. U. Horned Frogs again in the second and last meeting of the two teams this year won by a score of 32-31. The game was closely con- , tested all the way and there was ^ never a difference of more than four points between the teams the whole game. j Just when it seemed the Aggies j would be victorious and with only thirty seconds to play, Frank Cantel- . mi, Frog Captain, and forward, threw : a field goal from near the foul line ] that put the Frogs one point in the j lead and gave them the victory. Can- i telmi was high point man of the en- ] counter with fourteen points, and played a brilliant floor game all the way. Davis was second with eleven points, and Sikes close behind with ten. i The margin of the Frog victory can be counted to the fact that they sank six out cf twelve free throws, while the Aggies could sink only one out of six. ] Between halves the Aggie tumblers and the “Campus Kids” put on exhi bitions. Both were very good and Mr. Penberthy is deserving of much i praise for his work. The last conference game of the season at Aggieland will be played against Rice tonight. The final game of the year will be at Austin Satur day night with State as opponents. Box score. TEXAS STEERS AT A. and M.
