It is a sad but true fact, and ac cording to the social secretary and all other officials there will be only one more corps dance this scholastic year. No doubt, to many it is pleasant to know that schoool is that near over and that commencement is so near. Probably that is a good way to feel about this time of the year, for one that is ambitious and anxious to get out and master the world is sure to enjoy success sooner or later. Well in all seriousness, for the old Saturday night veterans of the An nex, the news of one more dance is not so pleasant. Of course the floor is rough, the stags are numerous, and the fish sometimes forget their places, but never-the-less the dances in the past have been rather pleasant. With no worries nor cares, and most of the time no date, the music was always good and the crowd was one that you liked regardless of the little childish dissentions, jealousies and gripes. Six months from now, you would give a whole lot to attend another dance in Aggieland and a year from now you would give most anything just to look in on one. Remember there is only one more and that is Saturday, May 23. * * * Final Ball to be Held June 1. According to information available at present the Final Ball will be held Monday, June 1. As has been an nounced previously all seniors, their visitors and all members of the fac ulty who do not dance, will be ad mitted free. This dance is given in honor of the Senior Class by the other three classes and is one that is re membered always as a big event, by the graduating class. Capt. Ike Dahlberg made his DE BUT at the last corps dance, although he waited until rather late for a boy that has eyes and hair like his, but that is better than waiting until final. Now for all of those who are still waiting, do not let final go by without “coming out”, for it is your last chance in Aggieland. Remember, Seniors, this dance is given in your honor so you can at least be there and add dignity to the occasion. * * * Dance in Bryan, Tuesday June 2. As usual there will be a dance held at the Elks’ hall in Bryan on Tuesday night after the final review. This is the final go-round and one that is always enjoyed by all, even though it is a rather sad affair when you stop and think just what it is all about. Music will be by Aggieland and it is your last chance to hear them unless you happen to be in their circuit for the summer. So don’t let this last chance go by. WEST TEXAS CLUB GOES A PICNICING A short distance from the campus, between College and Bryan, out in an open “plaza,” or a cow pasture, the members of the West Texas Club as sembled on last Thursday evening for an old time barbecue and feed. The main feature of the picnic was the feed, which consisted of barbecu ed meat, fruit, and many other good things to eat. However, before the participation in the eats, a baseball game featured the entertainment of the evening. The game was at first started as an old fashioned “one- eyed cat,” but soon the late members began to arrive and it was then that the real game commenced. This hotly contested affair continued until it was called on account of darkness, only after the moon ceased to shine. Immediately following this event, everyone made a rush for the eats, and the food soon vanished like snow flakes upon a hot stove. It is needless to say that every one was very much satisfied and it is the expressed hope of the retiring of ficers, who are Seniors, that this kind of entertainment will be the main fea ture of the club in future years for it is at these meetings that we see boys in true self-expression. Although, the members may be from the various sections of the West, it is at these events that they become better ac quainted, cement the old ties of friendship, and clear away all ob stacles that might cause a deteriora tion of the West, the club, and all that it may represent. ‘3*S><8><8x8x8><$><3>«>-S><*><®><®>
