The meet gives promise of being the
greatest the conference has ever
known, both in the number of partic
ipants and ability of these different
men. Many conference records, some
of which have stood for several years,
are due to crash before the terrific
competition that will develop if the
weather and track are good. The
fact that there will be men capable of
making better marks than the pres
ent records was evidenced in the dual
meet here last Saturday when the Ag
gies and Longhorns broke six records
and tied another.
BAYLOR COLLEGE GIRLS
VISIT AGGIELAND
Nine Baylor-Belton College girls,
accompanied by their chaperone, came
to A. and M. last Sunday to aid in the
religious activities of the campus. The
journey from Baylor Belton was made
in a bus belonging to that school and
one of their employees made the trip
to drive the mammoth automobile.
The party arrived at College Station
late Saturday afternoon and departed
for Baylor Belton Monday morning.
The girls took a prominent place on
the chapel program at GHiion Hall
Sunday morning. Besides singing
with the choir, the group as a whole
rendered a special song. Two of the
young ladies accompanied the orches
tra on their violins and also played a
duet that was exceptionally well re
ceived.
No scheduled program was given
Sunday afternoon, although several
of the girls obliged with impromptu
numbers in the “Y” lobby. Sunday
evening the entire group were pres
ent at the Baptist meeting in the E.
E. Building where they presented
“The Life of Christ in Song and
Verse.”
Aside from varying the usual Sun
day program, the girls by their ex
cellent technique charmed every audi
ence before which they appeared.
Their visit will be remembered as a
bright spot on the religious calendar
of the College by all who heard them.
Dwight L. Moody: “All that I have
ever accomplished in life I owe to
my mother.”
Jean Paul Richter: “To the man
who has had a mother, all women
are sacred for her sake.”
Charles Dickens: “I think it must
somewhere be written that the vir
tues of the mothers shall be visited
upon their children as well as the sins
of the father.”

SENIOR WEEK.
The hopes of the seniors for a sen
ior week just before commencement
have turned into rejoicing over the
announcement that there will be a
senior week this year, for the first
time in several years. After Satur
day, May 23, the seniors will not be
required to attend classes. Very prob
ably the exams for them will be giv
en on Monday and Tuesday, May 25
and 26. The seniors will make all mil
itary formations and remain on the
campus during the week.
The purpose in having a senior
week is obvious. Getting ready to
graduate is no small task, for numer
ous details must be attended to. Then,
too, it is fitting that the seniors
should have the last few days of their
college life as a time in which to re
vive old associations, make the rounds
of friends, and get their affairs in
shape preliminary to their last good
bye.
William Dean Howells: “A man
never sees all that his mother has
been to him till it’s too late to let
her know that he sees it.”
