    THE BATTALION
Purina Mills Representative
to Interview the “Ag” Seniors
Mr. L. M. Kishlar, representing the
Purina Mills, will be on the campus
March 12 to 14 inclusive for the pur
pose of interviewing Agricultural
Seniors that may be interested in em
ployment with the Purina Mills. His
headquarters while here, will be at
the Y. M. C. A.
For the benefit of those men going
to the Livestock Show in Fort Worth,
Mr Kishlar has arranged to inter
view them at the Texas hotel March
8 to 10 inclusive.
The Purina Mills are the oldest and
largest manufacturers of commercial
feeds in the world. They prefer to
use agricultural college graduates be
cause those men understand the
necessity of supplying livestock anil
poultry raisers with rations that cut
their cost of producing milk, eggs,
pork and beef. The right type of
men will find a position with the
Purina Mills an unusual opportunitv.
It is interesting to note that the
Purina Mills employs more Texas A.
and M. College graduates than any
other college with the possible ex
ception of the ,University of Mis
souri. There are, at the present Id
f,ormer Aggies on the Purina forces.
They have formed a “Texas Aggie-
Purina Club,” and it is said to be a
very active and progressive club.
Any Agricultural Senior interested
can arrange interviews with Mr.
Kishlar ,either at Fort Worth or the
College, by seeing J. H. Hayes, 1G
Foster Hall. The Mills want several
men from A and M. this year.
ALL WALES TEAM
Everybody likes a man’s chorus, and in the Rhondda Welsh Chorus
which will sing here on March 11th, we shall have an opportunity to
hear one of the very best. The Welsh are famous for their group
singing. One of the most interesting features of country life in the
Welsh mountains is the singing contests which are participated in by
choirs representing whole communities, and which call forth the same
intense interest that we give to athletic contests.
The Rhondda Singers are a sort of all-Welsh team of singers who
have been chosen from the victorious choirs of the country, and have
widened their selection of songs to embrace all sorts of good music
as well as their native airs. They bring fine recommendations from
all over Canada and the United States, and cannot fail to give a great
deal of pleasure to everybody who likes music in any form whatever.
It is probable that there will be a very large crowd at this con
cert, and for this reason students are advised to get their tickets as
early as possible. Tickets for students are 50c.
ARCHITECTURAL STUDENTS
RETURN FROM NEW ORLEANS
Inspection Trip Was A Complete
Success
The members of the group of
seniors and juniors that made the an
nual architectural inspection trip re
turned to College on Wednesday, Feb
ruary 25. The group, consisting of
thirty-one seniors and juniors, togeth
er with Professors June and Lindsey,
Mrs. Lindsey, the latter’s mother and
C. M. Porter, who made the trip to
visit relatives in New Orleans, left
College on Wednesday, February 18,
and arrived in New Orleans on the
following day. The trip was made in
a special car which was kept at Pud-
man City during the entire time the
group stayed in the Crescent City.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday
were spent in inspecting some of New
Orleans’ outstanding buildings.. The
Hibernia Bank Building, a twenty-
three story superstructure, the Fed
eral Reserve Building, the Post Of
fice, the Customs House, the Court
House and the old Government Mint,
one of the oldest government build
ings in the country, were among the
structures that were inspected. Of
special interest was the old Frenc i
quarter, the original site of New Or
leans, which was.visited Friday. One
of the features of this part of th3
city was the old French Market, and
it is here that several magnificent
cathedrals may be seen, among them
the one that was erected in anticipa
tion of Napoleon’s expected visit.
On Sunday the group scattered,
many visiting with friends and rela
tives in the city and the majority
taking a forty-mile ride on board the
pleasure boat “Capitol.” The follow
ing day was spent inspecting the
campus of Tulane University and also
that of Newcome College. Two of the
old French cemeteries were also vis
ited on this day.
With the real work of the trip
over, Tuesday saw the group scatter
ed over the entire city witnessing and
enjoying the novelty and carnival
spirit of the Mardi Gras. That pven-
ing the members assembled and board
ed the car preparatory to leaving
New Orleans and Wednesday noon
found them back at College.
