CAVALRY 7, ARTILLERY 0
On Monday afternoon the Cavalry
won the deciding game of the inter
battalion football series from the ar
tillery by a 7 to 0 score. Once when
an attempt at a place kick by Fish
Hunt was blocked the Wagon Sol
diers had a chance to even the score
but the man who recovered the ball
was too slow and was soon overtaken
and downed.
The game soon resolved itself into
the Artillery vs. Fish Hunt as thi :
man was doing practically all of the
work for the backfield with his punt
ing, passing and running with the
ball. It was on a wide end run of his
that “Zu” Parks was able to plow
over in his habitual “Red Grange”
style for the single touchdown of the
game.
Connerty of the Artillery did quite
a bit of their backfield work, handling
the punting end of the game excep
tionally well, at one time putting one
down the field for a distance of
eighty yards and another time for
sixty. He passed well also but the
men on the receiving end did not
seem to be able to snatch the ball
even with it coming right into their
arms.
Fish Deffebach playing end for the
Artillery soon convinced the Cavalry
men that his end was a hard one to
get around. He is without doubt a
lanking end in the inter-battalion
league. Closely following - him during
the afternoon was Bailey of the othev
team.
The two lines did not show up near
so well as they had in some of the
past games but since they both seemed
to be lacking in their usual game, the
contest was pretty evenly matched
throughout. Vance and Dodson for
the Artillery and Lanham and Ride
out for the Cavalry looked good
throughout the game.
WE ASK YOU.
If you don’t feel just right
If you can’t sleep at night
If you moan and sigh
If your throat is dry
If you can’t smoke or drink
If your grub tastes like ink
If your heart doesn’t beat
If you’ve got cold feet
Why don’t you marry the girl ?
—Princeton Tiger.
I don’t feel just right
I can’t sleep at night
I moan and sigh
My throat is dry
I can’t smoke or drink
My grub tastes like ink
My heart doesn’t beat
There is cold in my feet
My head’s in a swirl
I’m married to the girl.
—Kansas City Star.
Now he’s feeling just right
He can sure sleep at night
Not a moan or a sigh
And his throat isn’t dry
He can both smoke and drink
Food tastes nothing like ink
Heart has regular beats
Not a sign of chilled feet
And the reason, of course—
The judge gave a divorce.

/'"'ASE field reports cover fully the cause and rem-
edy of every interruption in the satisfactory op
eration of Case machines. Case engineers have re
duced the handling of these reports to a science.
Month by month they chart the comparative effi
ciency and durability of the parts and units affected.
Month by month the charted information is checked
against the record of repair parts sold. From this
record an endurance factor is established by the
simple formula:
Number parts used
Number machines
; Endurance factor for each part.
Every effort is made to reduce this factor to the
lowest possible point. The whole process of refine
ment is continuous and now almost automatic in its
operation. No weakness of any kind can escape
attention.
This is why the development of Case machines can
be, and has been, carried to a point far in advance of
the ordinary. This is the secret of the efficiency
and dependability of every Case machine.

AMPLE EXCUSE
London Tit-Bits: The prize excuse
was introduced during the trial of a
man charged with wife-beating.
A neighbor who was present dur
ing the assault was called as a wit
ness for the prosecution. He de
scribed the blows in detail and the
wife’s helplessness.
In astonishment, the Judeg turned
to the witness and asked: “Do you
mean the Court to understand that
you stood by and saw this man strike
the poor woman again and again ? ”
“Yes, I saw it all.”
“And you made no effort to inter
fere ?”
“ I couldn’t.”
“Why not?”
“I was filling my pipe.”
A goat ate all our other jokes,
And then began to run;
“I cannot stop,” he softly said,
“I am so full of fun.”
