Say Bo, didja
Decide that since you were
A high and mighty senior
One of that class
WHICH IS DIRECTING THE
efforts of the a. and m.
COLLEGE that is was your time
To strut your onions
And make a KILLING with
Numerous FAIR FILLIES?
Didja write a BURNING EPISTLE
And have it CARBON-COPIED,
Sending it to each of your
FEMININE ACQUAINTANCES
Asking for a PHOTO for
THE SENIOR FAVORITE SEC
TION? Didja receive enuf photos
For an art gallery and didja
Send them all in saying:
“When the Staff looks over
This BEVY of BEAUTIES
They’ll probably select ME
AS THE BEST LADIES MAN.”
Didja feel proud and happy
In the tremendous success
Of your SOCIAL ACHIEVEMENT
But Alas! didja learn
That when a boy put a
Girl’s picture in the LONGHORN
He was expected to give her
A DE LUXE LONGHORN!
Didja realize that a
DE LUXE COPY COST $7.50
And that you had put
TEN girl’s PHOTOS IN THE SEC
TION ? Didja writhe in mortal agony
With visions of FLEEING DOL
LARS?
Say Bo, didja?

MUSICAL CONCERT
WILL BE GIVEN IN
BRYAN JANUARY 26
Music lovers of Bryan and College
will have an opportunity to hear some
native talent in a programme at the
Palace Theatre in Bryan on the even
ing of January 26. Mr. Samuel
Frances Johnson, brother to the fa
mous Aggie athlete, Bull Johnson,
will be the leading artist on the pro
gramme. Mr. Johnson, better known
in professional circles as Samuel
Frances, is just back from a tour of
the United States as assistant artist
to Mortimer Kaphan, the greatest
portrayer of Dickens’ characters in
the United States. Mr. Johnson will
be assisted by Mr. Moody Dawson,
violinist of note, and Madame Anna
Garrett, accompanist. All of the above
named artists are natives of Texas on
a tour of their native state at the
present time. Mr. Johnson formerly
lived in Bryan, but has been in the
East for several seasons preparing
himself for a career in the operatic
world. After having toured his native
state, he will return to New York
where he will continue studies in art.
Close followers of the ‘radio world’
will no doubt recognize some famili
arity in the programme, for Mr. John
son has been prominent in radio con
certs as well as on the stage.
EDITORS OF ANNUAL AND
JUNIOR BAT TO BE ELECTED
The Junior class held an important
meeting Sunday, January 16, 1925, in
the Y. M. C. A. chapel. Several im
portant things were discussed, and a
selection of dates for two elections
was made.
It was decided to elect editor and
business manager for the Junior Bat-
tahon, which is to be issued in about
a month. Tuesday at noon was se-
ected as the time to elect these of-
cers, but as there was not a majority
present, the election was postponed
until Wednesday noon. For a number
of years, it has been the custom of
The Battalion to have an issue of the
paper published by each class. This
early election will give the Junior
Class sufficient time to prepare a
good issue.
The second matter of importance
was the setting of Sunday, January
25, as the date for the election of the
officers of the Longhorn staff for next
year. An editor, art editor, and bus
iness manager will be elected then.
The men who are chosen for these of
fices will have the task of upholding
the high standard of the college an
nual.
Give us, O give us the man who
sings at his work! Be his occupa
tion what it may, he is equal to any
of those who follow the same pur
suit in silent sullenness. He will
do more in the same time—he will do
it better—he will persevere longer.
One is scarcely sensible to fatigue
while he marches to music. The very
stars are said to make harmony as
they revolve in their spheres.—Car
lyle.
