crowd of people it has been called up
on to entertain. The A. and M.-Texas
U. football game—the football classic
of the Southwest—has always drawn
thousands of people. All previous
records for attendance at the game
will be broken when the crowd of
about 35,000 people assembles for the^
game. An unusual interest in the
game this year is evident from the
fact that over 31,000 tickets have al
ready been sold, and the remaining
3500 are almost sure to be sold before
the game begins. The formal dedi
cation of the new stadium at the Uni
versity of Texas has aroused unusual
interest all over the state in the game,
as well as an interest in the other
events which will compose the pro
gram that is being planned by the
University, cooperating with the
Chamber of Commerce. Caring for
the thousands of visitors and enter
taining them will be well done, for
Austin is making every effort to as
sure its visitors a good time and an
hospitable reception.
The program for Thanksgiving Day
will be inaugurated with the arrival
of the A. and M. Cadet Corps at
eleven o’clock. The cadets will at
once parade up Congress Avenue and
will be reviewed from the balcony
of the Stephen F. Austin hotel by
Governor Pat M. Neff, Governor-
elect Miriam A. Ferguson, President
W. M. W. Splawn of Texas University,
President W. B. Bizzell of A. and M.
College, and other state dignitaries
and officials.
The formal dedication of the new
stadium will begin at 1:45 p. m. when
the procession moves forward to the
stand on the field. The program is in
keeping with both the spirit of the
events and the spirit of Thanksgiving.
Special entrances have been desig
nated for the different spectators to
the game. Special arrangements have
also been made for parking cars.
Printed programs containing in
formation for the visitors will be dis-

Rumor has it that “Monk” Under
wood is quite interested in Public
Speaking as it is taught in Hearne
High School. Or can it be the fair
young instructor who interests ‘Monk’
so much ?
And in passing it might be men

with the same girl some days ago.
Somehow all was not well—at least
the young lady returned to see Un
derwood the past week-end. We are
wildly guessing that this consolation
visit was prompted by either the com
parison or the incomparability of
these two young men.
We hate to stay after Guion so hot
