Say bo,
Didja passed thru
The THWARTED THROES
Og THREE long years
Of MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
And emerged from
Their OCTOPUSION GRIP
A finished product—
A TECHNICAL, INTELLECTUAL
GIANT?
Were you LEARNED
In THERMODYNAMICS
REFRIGERATION, HY DRAULICS
and COMPLEX LARSONOLOGY?
Didja gracefully retire
To your H. E. PRACTICE CLASS
To repose in the ARMS or
MORPHEUS ?
Did time' speed by,
And in the wee small hours
Were YOU rudely awakened
By the CLAMOROUS CLANGS
Of your BIG BEN ALARM
Sounding Forth ?
Did YOU cut it off
And resume your reose.
For SIX COSECUTIVE TIMES
Did the alarm clock
Ring loudly and each time
Did you SEEMINGLY
Cut-off the alarm ?
And was your highly
SKILLED TECHNICAL BRAIN
PUZZLED ith this
PREPONDEROUS, ENGINEERING
PHENOMENA?
Finally didja RUMMIT
An UNSKILLED CRUDE STUDEN T
Of the LOWLY AGRICULTURE
GLANCE at the clock and exclaim
“The ALARM is set for REPEATING
YOU have been MERELY
TWISTING THE MINUTE HAND.”
Didja realize that YOU
Didn’t even know how
To cut off an alarm clock
Didja WEEP and TEAR YOUR
HAIR and EAT YOUR SLIDE-
RULES and THREE SETS OF
STEAM-TABLES
In your MENTAL AGONY
Didja decide to change courses
And take a CRIP such as
RAILROAD ENGINEERING

H 4SWELL’ S
VARIED ASSORTMENT OF
PICTURES EXHIBITED AT
Y. M. C. A. LAST WEEK
An exhibit of high class pictures
and frames was open to the public in
the Y. M. C. A. Chapel last Satur
day, Sunday and Monday. H. H. Al
len, representing G. H. Pitman & Bro.
wholesale dealers of Dallas, had
charge of this exhibit. This company
was persuaded to give an exhibit at
College Station through the efforts of
W. H. Matthews, secretary of the Y.
M. C. A.
This company deals in wholesale
only, and due to the Y. M. C. A. stu
dents and outsiders who desired to
purchase high class pictures at reduc
ed rates were given an opportunity
to do so. The exhibit included popu-'
lar art pictures and fancy frames,
with a special selection of cabinet
frames; any of these could be bought
as ideal Christmas gifts or for pri
vate use.
Two hundred and fifty orders were
placed during the time the pictures
were on exhibition. Many pictures
were bought for the purpose of decor
ating the Senior Club Room and other
parts of the Y. M. C. A. Purchases,
for this purpose, were made by Presi
dent and Mrs. Bizzell, Secretary and
Mrs. Matthews, Mrs. Taubenhaus, F.
L. Thomas, and many others, includ
ing P. R. McNeill representing - the
Senior Club.
Mr. Allen announces wonderful re
sults in exhibiting the pictures—not
only in sales, but in the inter
est taken by the student body. The
students made purchases of especially
high class pictures, showing an ex
ceptional taste for quality in their se
lections. “As an example,” Mr. Allen
said, Tthere were thirty-three orders
placed for Maxfield Parish’s ‘Day
break.’ ”
A semi-annual display, under the
supervision of the Y. M. C. A. has
been p'anned. Mr. Allen says that the
next exhibit will receive more prepar
ation and contain a much larger va
riety of pictures. This second annual
exhibit will be made next spring.
Mr. Matthews will receive all sub
sequent orders from the company at
the same reduced rates. Anyone de
siring to turn in an order should do
so at the desk of the Y. M. C. A.
The Y. M. C. A. will receive a per
centage in pictures of all orders
and these pictures will be placed
among the masterpieces bought for
the purpose of decorating this insti
tution. The desire to make a real
restful place out of the Y. M. C. A.
with this form of charm, was the pur
pose of bringing about the exhibit.
Chattum: “Sorry, we have no size
twelve boots. Here are some large
tens.”
Colglazier: “Say, who do you
think I am, Cinderella?”
