PETTY THIEVERY.
It has been brought to our attention that some one has been breaking
into the candy and soda water stand at the athletic field and stealing the
supplies. We feel that every student is interested in this matter; therefore,
we take this opportunity to bring it to their attention. One College official
has the following to say concerning these occurrences:
“You doubtless know that the concessions at Kyle Field are awarded
eadh year to worthy athletes. The candy and soda water concession was
awarded to Darby and Neely, both worthy athletes and both Rave done much
for our athletic teams.
“Since the baseball season has opened these boys have put considerable
supplies in their stand under the grandstand and we furnish them a lock to
the room. On two occasions, one being last night (March 25) some thought
less students have broken into this room and taken their supplies. They
used an axe or some heavy instrument and broke down the door to gain en
trance. The loss, while small, means considerable to these two worthy
students who are not only working their way through College but are con
tributing much to the success of our athletic teams. It is hard to realize that
anyone would be so ungrateful of the service these boys are rendering the
institution, that they would so far forget themselves as to steal the supplies
of two men who are in a large measure depending on the sale of these sup
plies to pay their way through college. It will be recalled that these two
students have taken every precaution to protect their stock of goods. If the
person or persons who took these supplies have any manhood at all left in
them they will immediately reimburse these two worthy students the full
amount covering everything stolen. No one but a thief of the lowest type
would do a thing like that and it is certainly to be regretted that we have
such a person in this community and the sooner he is apprehended and placed
where all thieves should be the better the community will be.”
We have just learned from one of the students who owned the supplies,
that they have almost positive proof that it was not studens of this institu
tion who stole the articles. Nevertheless, we are sure that the students
should know about the above matter and should help the authorities in every
way possible to prevent its reoccurance.
We feel that it was thoughtlessness, together with a certain amount of
boyish bravado, which caused this petty thievery and sincerely hope that the
guilty parties will realize their mistakes before it is too late.

Cabinet Meets.
At the regular meeting of the Cab
inet plans were discussed by the
President and others whereby educa
tional advantages could be given the
Mexican laborers on the campus. N a
definite plans were outlined, although
some excellent ideas were brought
out by members of the group. Many
of the Cabinet members pledged
their support in helping with the com
ing orchestral entertainment.

“Y" Workers Meeting.
At the next .regular meeting
men who have worked for the Asso
ciation will be invited to attend. It
is hoped that a large group will be
present and help extend the Chris
tian influence of the Association to
every student.
“Y" Purchases New Pianos.
Realizing the need for high class
music for the students, the Y officials
and Cabinet with the cooperation of
other representative students out
lined a plan whereby the Association
could make the purchase of two
pianos, one to be used in the lobby
and the other in the assembly hall.
The lobby piano has the electric am-
pico attachment and is of the finest
quality. A great treasure is in store
for the lovers of music. The piano
allfor the assembly hall is of fine qual
ity and promises to make a wonder
ful improvement in the music fui’-
nished at the shows and various en
tertainments. It is hoped that the
students will realize the value of
these additions and cooperate in tak
ing the best of care of them.
