8 THE BATTALION LARGE EXHIBIT OF LIVE STOCK TO FORT WORTH FERGUSON BROS. STOCK COMPANY COMES TO PALACE (Continued from Page 1) stock show management has elimin ated the Morgans from its list for pre miums the College will be seriously hampered in its horse exhibit as only Percherons can be taken. Among this hreed, however, the College will ex hibit animals that won at Fort Worth last year high in the list and a new three year old mare recently added to the A. & M. stables which placed high in a large entry at the 1922 Interna tional show. Because of the practice of selling its entire exhibit of hogs every year immediately following the show, this •exhibit is entirely new every year. In "the lot, however, are a number with Wood lines that have made winners in the past. Sheep are being exhibited this year for the first time in several years and as they are of College breeding it is impossible to speculate on their win ning ability in comparison with others. For the first time A. & M. will have bulls to sell at Fort Worth this year. In past years numerous requests have been made for College animals fol lowing the show, but the College has not been able to meet the demand. This year two bulls, a junior and sen ior calf, sired by the herd bull, Prince Perfecto, wil be offered for sale after they have been placed in their class by the judges. Prince Perfecto sired the white faced steers that made good records at Fort Worth, Dallas, Waco, Kansas City and Chicago last year. “It’s hard,” said the sentimental landlady at the dinner table, “to think that this poor lamb should be des troyed in its youth to satisfy our ap petites.” “Yes,” said the smart boarder, struggling with his portion, ”it is tough.”—Vancouver Province. The Ferguson Brothers Stock Com pany, conceded to be the best stock company that has ever been in the state, has been engaged to open at the Palace Theatre next Thursday night, and will present a selected series of royalty plays. These plays will be staged in the most complete manner, the company carrying its own special scenic equipment for each production. DRY CRACKS. Another reason that we are glad we don’t go to Baylor U. is that every time Baylor make a score the women scream so that it reminds of of the Rice screech owls. * * * It would be an interesting mix up to watch a fight between the dogs of war and the hooch hounds. ❖ * * The last proposal the M. E. Sen ior got was from a woman who ran a steam laundry and wanted a hus band to make crowns for the laundrj queens. * s}: The Bryan Belle claims that the Fish are too young, the Seniors to > old, the Sophs too fresh, and the Jun iors too slow. It seems that a two- year man has a chance after all. Teacher: John, if you went to see your girl and sat down in a chair across the room from her and moved your chair each time reducing the distance by half could you ever reach her? John: Theortically no, but in re ality I could get close enough for all practicall purposes. The best stock company that ever hit the state at the Palace for three days beginning Thursday night.—Adv.
