NUMBER 21 BELTON CHORAL CLUB DELIGHTS ALL AGGIELAND THIRTY-FIVE PRETTY GIRLS RENDER A MOST PLEASING PROGRAM. WAS BETTER THAN EVER Annual Visit of Baylor-Belton Club Draws Large Audience Which Re ceived Big Treat. Mrs. Allie Chalmers Pierce re newed and greatly enlarged the al ready warm spot which she holds in the hearts of the A. and M. boys when she gave her solo “The Rosary”. It was truly the work of a master done only as a master can do. As the ordinary thing, an A. and M. au dience cafes little for solo work; but there was not one in the audience who did not greatly enjoy this piece and sincerely wish for more. During the intermission of the programme, Miss Lois Pipkin, for merly of the Registrar’s office but now Secretary of the Former Stu dent’s Association of Baylor College could not resist the temptation to come to the front in Aggieland again. She told the audience she wished to speak in behalf of Baylor College and was greeted with such a roar that she might have known that the college needed no recommenda tion here. After asking the assist ance of some few to make the bas ket ball team members behave, they had the bald head row—she gave many interesting facts concerning their college. Excepting the fact that Mrs. Pierce was forced to turn some three times and give Dwyer and “Tiny” Keen a few hard stares, the pro gram was interrupted only by the applauses offered. It is regretted that these men had to be so over come with the sea of beauty before them—however no blame can be placed on them—they were justi fied. The visit of the Baylor-Belton Choral Club has long been an annual event in Aggieland and is ever great ly enjoyed. It has often been said, that in a technical school, like A. and M., the esthetic side of one’s makeup is woe fully neglected. Not willfully, but it just so happens that technical train ing is not conducive to this side of one’s nature. If it wasn’t for the Band, Aggieland Jazz, dormitpry vic'trolas, and other local musicians, life would be hard. But the Band, the Aggieland, and the local musicians are self-willed, they can’t perform (Continued on Page 8) Before one of the largest crowds that ever saw a basketball game at College the Texas Longhorns defeat ed the Aggies last night and moved one notch nearer the coveted South western title. The final score was 19 to 11. The Aggies at no time dur ing the contest displayed the form which they have shown in a majority of the games this year. The Shrine Council is composed of Noble John Wyatt, El Paso, Noble Fred Rightor, Austin, and delega tions from each Temple Mystic Shrine in Texas.
