He emphasised the fact that each distilate can be further aplit or “cracked” into other products, according to wish and means. The Chemistry Club is very much indebted to Prof. Thornton for his kindness, and every one enjoyed greatly his talk, but sorry not to have obtained a detailed description here due to the lack of time. NORIHUKST TEXAS CLUB GIVES BANQUET AND THEATRE PARTY < Continued from Page 1) ■IH- i i 1 !! - 1 4 l h:i » La \ i T CLUB DANCE SPLENDID AFFAIR The dance given by the T Club was one of the most succeesful affairs held in Bryan this year. Hiia dance was the first of a series of annual affairs to be given by the T Club. The hall was beautifully decorated presenting a pleasing effect to the eye in red and white. The walls were covered with large maroon and white blankets, while the lights were artistically decorated with red and white crepe paper. | Promptly at nine o'clock. Scott Alexander, president of the club, ac companied by Miss Beulah Cook, led the grand march. About one hun dred couples took part in the skill- • fully led march. As a fitting cli max the dancers formed the famed Aggie T”, while the orchestra played the well known tune “Wild cat.” After the distribution of programs engraved with the T Club seal, the first ^pnee commenced. H olicks Orchestra furnished th? crowd with music unexcelled in the state of Texas. „ ex . Miss Brown was the center of at about the (traction preventing any lagging mom- ents with her ready wit and timely hits. When the repast had been en joyed and cush was served she show ed unusual tact and adaptability in securing two portions of ice cream. All formality dispensed with, toasts were next in order those receiving recognition and applause being given by Mr. Burkes which was, “Woman is the masterpiece of the great au thor—the edition is large and every man should have a copy”, and Miss Henry’s toast to man. Miss Lois Pipkin received warmest thoughts with her toast to the boys from, out West where the friendship Is g little longer snd the hand shake a- little stronger. The dinner party was followed by a theatre party at the Queen where It was necessary for the gallery stermers to first rush the immicable Catfish and his partner from same. The bunch took possession and every body got acquainted to an extent that every indication of hilarious enjoy ment was shown by ceaseless cbat tery and boisterous laughing. The' entire membership feels that they owe the success of the affair to the young ladies, without whom it would haye been a miserable failure and with whom it was a pleasant sue ceas. Thanks are acknowledged to the Hotel management and Queen theatre for every courtesy extended The young ladies present were: Grpce More head. Nina Henry. Maude Brown. The organization committee will - make its recommen dations and officers will he elected. A good program of music is prom ised. The service will be over within an hour at the most. Last Sundsy Rev. Ramsey spoke briefly and interestingly and Misses Simms and Lovell sang to the com plete enjoyment of the cadets and campus people who were present. These Sunday afternoon meetings are to round out the students’ social life as well as his religion. The league ini Bryan is thoroughly inter ested in our organization and dip lomatic relations between the two will he established as soon as pos sible—especially with the young sis ters of Bryan. T’a were awarded to eight men as follows: Captain E. E. Me Quillen of Galveston; Captain elect A. LJ.Eorbes of Houston; R. J. Ehlert of Galveston; W. H. Wil liams of Houston; G. H. Hartung Houston; G- B. Gouger of San An tonio; P. A. Dwyer of San Antonio and J. A. Pierce of Tyler. Gold basketballs with the cham- fdonship and an ever-victorious bar ith the total points scored during ic »ea*©n-i—560 to 298—attached were awarded by the Athletic Coun cil to the above ei|ght men and to W. L. Driver, Coach. A gold basketball for meritorious service was awarded W. M. Burkes of Reagan, captain of the Reserve team. Burkes is a senior and this is his third year on the squad. Silver basketballs were awarded to member* of the Reserve team as follows: K R. Delee of Dallas; L. S. Keen of Rearens; F. G. Taylor of Waco; N. V. Jones of Denton; J. P. March of El Paso; W. N.
