■trumenta were received with this
shipment includinc the following: 4
' Panormic sights, 4 Quardrants, and
4 fuse setters. These added to the
collection of instruments that the
Battery already has and makes mo-e
than a fall Battery equipment. The
only shortage that the Battcrey no
tices now is the Horses and they are
expeced to arrive at the very earliest
time.
But this is not all that the Fio?d
Artillery at College is to receive,
There are sill five pieties on the
road with Tractors and the Caissons
for the same.
The cadets in tho Battery got some
excellent experience . in unloading
when they removed the guns from
the can and pulled them to their
places on the drill field. The work
was done after supper end every one
enjoyed it.
At the first drill period the pieces
were cleaned and the sights, quard-
rants, and fuse setters were explain
ed to the men. Mr. Braden, of the
Casual Organization formally from
the Artillery fired a problem on the
third piece and it turned out to be a
splendid success. In the future.
Captain Leach will hold all his class
es on the drill field and most of the
work will be with the guns. Very
few of the men could realise that a
whole hour had passed when release
blew on the morning of the first
with the real Artillery. <

BEAUTIFUL CHEMISTRY
f DANCE 1
On last Friday evening the Chem
istry department entevtsdnied with a
dance, in honor of the renouned
chem. club, which has struggled so
diligently for the past four years.
For the decorative theme, the
chem chib motif carried out the
lovely idea with artistic results. The
spacious chem building was beauti
fully adorned with lovely clusters of
holly and mistletoe, artistically ar
ranged couches of prickly pears and
cactus blossoms hung from burette
holders placed in prominent positions
within the building. From the cor.
ners and sides of the room delicate
ly tinted streamers of magnesium
ribbon extended, meeting in the cen
ter and falling in a graceful shower
to a Kipps’ Generator, ( which made
the occasion more binding' by the
frequent liberation of hydrogen sul
phide fumes.
Promptly at 9 o’clock, a beauti
fully planned grand march, led by
C. C. Khune, Ph. D, and an unknown
quanity from the thriving metropolis
of Bryan, started in the geology lab
oratory and^ended in the laboratory
of soil anology. Here the couples
filed by and each plucked a program,
which had been very daintily tied on
rink stand. The programs were
of red and blue litmus paper, tied
with platinum wire and bearing on
the outside the sdal of the club, the
design being a conglamoration of
thistle tubes, beakers and Erlenmey-
er’s flasks.
