grounds of the Exposition when in
proper uniform, on such occasions as
require their participation in parades,
escort duty and practice drills inside
the Exposition grounds; these occa
sions to be designated or approved by
the Exposition authorities. Entrance
thru the gates admits individuals to all
exhibit places, tho, of course, does not
entitle them to free entrance to con
cessions.
It is expected that the Exposition
will, when it is found necessary or de
sirable, invite such organizations as
are being housed by the Exposition, to
take part in parades, drills, or escort
work, and that such invitations will be
honored.
In arranging dates to meet the de
sires of agricultural colleges, it is of
the utmost importance that this office
be informed at the earliest possible
moment as to what dates are desired.
An accurate statement as to the num
ber of companies and number of offi
cers and men in each company should
be sent at the same time
No organization will have use of the
cantonment or encampment furnished
by the Exposition unless the number
of those coming is satisfactory to the
Exposition, and unless, also, each man
that comes is a certified member of
the organization.

rangements were made for getting the
society under way again.
The Austin Literary Society is the
most historic organization on the cam
pus, and is exceeded in age only by
Gathright Hall. In the early days of
the college it exerted a powerful in
fluence over the lives of the students,
and numerous men of importance are
numbered among its former members.
In fact, it and the Calliopean Literary
Society, which has long since disap
peared, founded the Battalion and ran
it for many years before the Students’
Association took charge.
A campaign has been instituted for
a small additional number of good
members and interesting programs are
assured by the chairman of the pro
gram committee, S. K. Mason. Pros
pective members should apply to W.
P. Martin, chairman of the member
ship committee.
