BLAKE. An affair which, in respect to the particular adaptation of its arrange ment and the significance of its prominence as a social courtesy, marked it as one of rare brilliancy, was the elegant entertainment given by Mrs. W. B. Bizzell of College on Wednesday morning. This was a charming compliment given, honoring Mrs. A. L. Blake of Denton, Mrs. Clarence Ousley, Sr., and Mrs. Clar ence Ousley, Jr. Though the weather was somewhat inclement, a large number of the campus ladies called between the hours of 10 and 12 and found the warmth and glow within full compensation for having braved the elements. The beautiful home wherein everything is well appointed, was, thru the eforts of the hostess made doubly attractive, and nothing was left undone which would be con ducive to an ideal environment for the guest. The environments were beautiful, each room throughout the reception suit giving a distinct note of pleasure. Pink was the color mo tif featured in the appointments and the excellent taste of the hostess led her to choose the pink chrysanthemum as the flower used in decorating. The beauty of the spacious hall presented an attractive scene with an artistic arrangement of stately palms and ferns, which formed an ideal environ ment for the receiving line. Misses Lillie Bess Kyle and Elaine Bizzell, dressed in hand embroidered frocks, with sashes and hair ribbons of pink, opened the door and in a sweet man ner, extended first greetings to the incoming guests. Mrs. Bizzell then in pleasing manner gave a cordial welcome, and standing with her in line were the four honorees and Mrs. E. J. Kyle. Pink, the dominant note in the decora tions, was further brought into promi nence in the appointments of the dining room. The handsome polished table, overlaid with rich cluny, held in the center a handsome brass can- dalabra that held eight pink tapers, and smaller candlesticks of brass at each corner also held tapers of the same hue, the light from these giving a delicate charm to the surroundings. At opposite ends of the board, pre siding at the handsome silver tea and coffee service, were Mesdames A. P. Potts and J. B. Bagley and Miss May Terrell served the guests with sand wiches.
