The Dixie and Princess Theatres have each donated the proceeds of two days’ shows for this propose. We could show our appreciation in no better way than by attending these theatres when in town. The great depression in the Houston and Texas Central Railroad bed be tween the college and the big hill a mile and a half toward Bryan is being filled with a steam shovel crew at a rapid rate. The dirt is coming from the big hill along the railroad. The steam shovel used loads a cubic yard of dirt on the flat cars every twenty seconds. The Houston and Texas Central is one of the best railroads in Texas, and never loses an opportunity of making their system more efficient. It was the first railroad in Texas, being built before the Civil war with wheel barrows, the timber along the route furnishing the ties and fuel. The girls are irresistible in their football stunt during the chorus, “And They Say He Went to College, Rah! Rah! Rah!” Saturday night.
