MISSISSIPPI CLUB ENTERTAINS
DR. AND MRS. MORGAN HOSTS
Dr. and Mrs. Hardy and Mississippi
A. and M. Football Team Guests
at Delightful Reception.
On Friday evening, November 15,
the Mississippi Club was at home at
the residence of Dr. and Mrs. J. O.
Morgan in honor of Dr. and Mrs. J. C.
Hardy. Dr. Hardy was formerly pres
ident of the Mississippi A. and M„
but is now at the head of the Baylor
Female College at Belton, and the
presence of himself and his charming
wife on the campus was the inspira
tion of the reception. The spacious
reception rooms looked unusually at
tractive in their decoration of ma
roon and white, the Mississippi A.
and M. colors, and the color scheme
was emphasized by the numerous
maroon and white pennants hanging
on the walls and curtains. The dining
room was very lovely with red blos
soms on the table and American
Beauties on the buffet. In the sitting
room the setting for the punch bowl
was a mass of ferns and red flowers.
Mrs. A. T. Potts and Mr. Carpenter
greeted the guests as they entered
and introduced them to the party in
the receiving line, who were Dr. and
Mrs. Morgan, Dr. and Mrs. Hardy,
President and Mrs. Milner, Dr. and
Mrs. Bolton, Lieut, and Mrs. Levi
Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Wooten, Mr. and
Mrs. Bagley, Mr. and Mrs. Ridgway,
Mr. Lehman, Mr. Thornton, Mr. Nich
ols, and Mr. Woods. A pleasant inci
dent of the evening was the presence
of the Mississippi A. and M. football
team and their coach, Mr. Chadwick,
and these guests were included in the
receiving line.
Miss Sal Walton Smith of Hender
son and Miss Milner had charge of
the punch bowl and were ably assist
ed by Mr. Steger and Mr. Lehman,
while Mrs. Felker, aided by little
Misses Bernardine McKnight, Bessie
Chastain, Bess Spence and Mary
Frances Hall, served the guests in
the dining room to delicious ice cream
molded in small footballs, and angel
food cake. Throughout the receiving
hours the college orchestra entranced
the callers with popular music and
added immensely to the pleasure of
the occasion.
It is seldom that College has the
honor of entertaining so delightful a
couple as Dr. and Mrs. Hardy, who
won all hearts by their affability, cul
ture and hearty enthusiasm in all
A. and M. affairs, and all who met
them will look forward with eager
anticipation to another visit from this
distinguished educator and his wife.
On Wednesday, November 13, Miss
Milner entertained the Bachelor Girls’
Club in honor of her visitor. Miss
Smith. After several games of six-
hand euchre the hostess, assisted by
her mother and Miss Mary Mclnnis,
served a course of chocolate whip,
cluny sandwiches and salted nuts.
Besides the club members, the fol
lowing guests were present: Mrs.
Wayne Evans, Mrs. Paddock, Mrs.
Wooten, Mrs. Templeton, Mrs. C.
Evans, Mrs. Felker, Mrs. Bagley, Mrs.
Morgan, Mrs. Potts, Miss O’Neal,
Misses Betty and May Earbee East-
land, Miss Gillespie and Miss Boul-
ware.
Saturday evening the seniors gave
a very informal dance at the Gym,
the guests of honor being the mem
bers of the Mississippi A. and M.
football team. The music was sup
plied by the splendid College band
and the dancers enjoyed every num
ber to the fullest extent. Those pres
ent were Dr. and Mrs. Ehlinger, Mr.
and Mrs. Moran, Misses Shearer,
Smith, Caldwell, Wilson, O’Neal and
Milner; Messrs. Tyree'' Bell, Stevens,
Royer, Young, Nev/ton, Von Rosen
berg, Chinski, Waters, Bateman and
Whitfield.
Mrs. Otto Ehlinger spent last w’eek
in Houston, a guest of Mrs. March
Culmore.

That Large Sized Game
Has Been Won
Big, fat turkeys have been eaten; golden-brown pumpkin and mince pies
and cranberries are gone, gone, gone. The thing to do now is to “spruce up”
a little. You’ll be surprised to see how prosperous looking and thankful
feeling that one thing will make you. Better get in line. “Kverybody’s
