another contribution. It seems that
out of this large student body there
should be a sufficient number to write
up all the news.
A. and M. cadets have always been
noted for possessing a large amount
of college spirit for supporting their
college activities. Yet there are al
ways some who hold back and thereby
cause the whole corps to suffer. Due
to those who failed to come up with
their part on the final ball last year,
the financial committee ran short of
funds and was forced to borrow
money to successfully finance the
ball. It is up to us old boys, there
fore, to get together and pay off that
debt. All captains have been request
ed to take up collections for this pur
pose, but the results were not what
they should have been. Those who
have paid we admire. Those who have
not done so should by all means do
so at once. Let’s not lag behind al
ways, but come up with our part. The
senior class needs the support of
every old boy in this matter. Make
it a point to be prompt in the future,
and such things will not happen
again.

THE NEW BAT BOX.
The affair of the car breaking down
last Saturday with the senior dancers
might be overlooked if such occur- I
rences had not been so frequent in
the past, causing as much, and some- |
times more, inconvenience than in
the case at hand. The Bryan-College
interurban is a common carrier and
exists for public service just as any
other public service corporation. In
order to hold its charter the manage
ment must live up to certain require
ments and regulations, but there are
other things which they may or may
not do, as suits them best. It is to
these things that the wide-awake pub
lic official will direct his attention and
see that the people get what is com
ing to them. Why not tighten up on
the interurban people and give the
people of College and Bryan an effi
cient and dependable car service be
tween the two places?

The Truth: “OUR VERY BEST” is the Very Best
The editors of The Battalion wish
to call the attention of the professors
and cadets to the new Battalion Box
recently installed at the entrance to
the Exchange Store, into which every
one is invited to drop write-ups of all
events of general interest to the
cadets, campus people or alumni.
The old legend printed each week
on the front page says that The Bat
talion is printed by the Students’ As
sociation, whereas in reality it is
usually written by one or two stu
dents while the rest of the corps
stands around and tells how to do it.
We hope that the students will do
something to make this old legend
mean something—mean that it is ac
tually published hy the student body.
