Me Knight will make a trip through the Southeastern states, visiting the experiment stations and agricultural schools of Louisiana, Ala bama, Georgia and the Carolinas. By comparing their work with that of the experiment station here, he will gather much valuable information. He made a similar trip through the North ern states last summer. Mr. L. L. Chappelle will employ his time in the machine shops in Detroit, Mich. Prof. Puryear will teach at summer school, and will spend the remainder of the summer visiting in Virginia. Mr. Standish, assistant in the ma chine shops, will visit his home in Bridgeport, Conn. Mr. M. K. Thornton, the new assist ant in the department of chemistry, will study chemistry in summer school at Columbia University, New York. Prof. MacDougall and family will spend the summer in Southern Cali fornia. Mr. Canfield, instructor in English, will teach history at summer school. The remainder of the summer he will spend in Oregon. Prof. Kyle will probably spend the summer in Galveston. Prof. J. E. Lear will teach at sum mer school, and intends to make a small tour of the central part of the State. Dr. Blake will teach at summer school, and will remain on the cam pus during vacation. Mr. Nelson, instructor in chemistry, intends to spend the vacation in St. Louis, Mo. Mr. R. W. Follett, instructor in Eng lish, will visit .during the summer in Massachusetts. Dr. Ball will employ the first part of the summer in scientific work here. The remainder he will spend in the mountains of Virginia. Mr. H. Cassidy, of the Agricultural Department, will go to Ann Arbor University of Michigan. Prof. Burns will teach at summer school. S. A. McMillan, instructor in agri culture, will visit the agricultural col leges of Illinois, Indiana, Kansas and Wisconsin, studying their methods and gathering such information as will be of benefit to this college. J. F. Williamson, of the Agricul tural Department, will go to summer school at Critchett, Texas. The re mainder of the summer he will spend at Alabama Polytechnic. Mr. G. H. Blackman, instructor in agriculture, will bud pecans in South Texas. Mr. D. T. Griswold, instructor in animal husbandry, will spend about a month teaching agriculture in West Texas. After that he will work in the stock yards and packing houses of Port Worth, studying market classi fications. Mr. I. C. Nichols, instructor in mathematics, will attend the Univer sity of Chicago, where he will obtain the Ph. D. degree of mathematics major. Mr. J. D. Garner, instructor in math ematics, will teach at summer school. Mr. F. J. Skeeler, instructor in physics, will attend the University of Chicago. Mr. McPheeters, of the Physics De partment, will attend summer school at Oklahoma A. & M. Prof. Kidd will attend the Univer sity of Wisconsin. Mr. W. T. Wright, instructor in physics, will teach at summer school. Prof. A. Mitchell will teach draw ing and bookkeeping at summer schools. Mr. Heck, instructor in drawing, will spend the summer in New York and Chicago doing architectural work. Prof. Geist will work on the Phila delphia Public Ledger. Dr. Ehlinger will take a six weeks’ course at the New York Polyclinic School of Medicine. Mr. F. D. Stegfer, - the Y. M. C. A. secretary, will study sociality in Chi cago, 111. DR. BALL ADDRESSES BRENHAMITES. Under the auspices of the Blinn College baseball team Dr. O. M. Ball delivered a very interesting and in structive lecture in Brenham Friday night before an audience that filled the hall to its capacity. Dr. Ball took for his subject “Bacteria and Health.” His talk was very interesting. He is a fluent speaker and his familiarity with the subject allowed him to ap pear at his best. Saturday morning Dr. Ball gave a very interesting talk for the students of Blinn College, taking for his sub ject “Student Life in Germany,” and the vividness with which he depicted the scenes and events which often transpire in student life there gripped the minds of his hearers so strongly that his address was immensely en joyed.
