The Shirley Club house was the scene of the first class prom in many years last Saturday evening. The Se nior Class members were hosts to the visiting young ladies of the Campus and Bryan. Had the class been able to secure the Mess hall the affair would have been formal. Taking into consideration the size of the Shirley House dancing hall it was decided best to have an informal prom. By 8:30 p. m. about thirty-five couples had assembled on the floor. A popular air was rendered by the Harris orchestra while the dancers arranged themselves in line for the grand march, W. P. Briscoe and Miss Jamison, of Palestine, leading the enthusiastic column of merry-makers. The figures 1911 and others were formed before programs were handed the participants by Mrs. J. M. The honor system holds that no student should copy work that he hands into an instructor as his own work. This is nearly as bad as . borrowing an other’s work in the examination room and turning it in as his own work. As in all other Colleges cheating is a very serious offense and is pun The programs were quite plain and unique. The covers were white, bear ing a top and two side views in gold of the A. and M. Senior ring. The decorations, though not rich and magnificent, were novel and ideal for the occasion. Green and white bunting, the class colors, were inter laced and festooned among the beams of the ceiling. On the opposite wall to the right of the entrance stood a large ’Varsity “T” of orange, veiled with black crepe. The panels sur rounding the walls were thrown into prominence by crossed sabres and 1911 pennants. A number of Harri son Fishers most beautiful girl pic tures were promiscious among the va rious noteworthy sketches.
